Earlier this week, Dale Earnhardt Jr finally achieved one of his wildest dreams. To be precise, he staunchly fought and finally succeeded in reviving the North Wilkesboro Speedway.

Recently, the revamped speedway hosted its first race, and Dale Jr. just had to compete.

Now, a few NASCAR drivers have acknowledged his efforts, and chief among them was Hendrick Motorsports’ Chase Elliott.

He said, “Thought it was amazing, I really did.”

“I think that they should thank Dale a lot for making that a really really amazing spectacle for short track racing. I think the track needed that, I think the series needed that, I think our sport needed that, and honestly.”

“What could be essentially a short track race, we’re all connected, one way or another. Whether it is short track racing or NASCAR on Sunday. It’s all connected in a way and I think it was really positive and cool to see when everybody comes together.”

What else did Chase Elliott say and how did fans react?

The driver also spoke about the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway. He acknowledged that it is a potential venue for a soccer stadium parking lot. If NASCAR ever paid it a visit, it could be the best ever race track on the calendar. All in all, Chase Elliott insisted that it is important to be passionate about things like this.

According to him, it is easy to just talk about it on social media. On the other end of the scale, it is quite a different thing to actually go out and do something about it.

All in all, Elliott believes that what Dale Earnhardt Jr has done, is send out a strong statement in support of short track racing. Needless to say, many NASCAR fans agreed with his sentiment and voiced their support behind it.
