At the Indianapolis Motor Speedway road course, there was a scary crash for Kyle Larson and Ty Dillon. The Hendrick Motorsports driver was diving down the inside of Dillon when he misjudged his braking. As a result, the helpless #5 car careened into the unsuspecting car.
It was strange to see a defending Cup champion of Larson’s caliber lose control like that. Now, in the buildup to the race at Michigan, Kyle Larson has finally broken his silence, but fans were still not convinced.

If he had brake pedal seconds after the crash like he said he did over the radio, then theres no way it was a boil/fade issue.

Kyle Larson sounds like he’s going through something. He sounds weird when he talks lately.

From the data and him hitting the brakes I don't see a driver error in that, I think he and hendrick are hiding something and basically wanting him to lie saying it was a mistake, no driver is gonna overdrive a corner that bad if something in his car wasn't wrong

He said, “Obviously, just made a big mistake. I got in there deep and I got out of shape and I was hoping that by the time I got under control, I could go straight before they turned into the corner. Once I realized that I was going to hit the #47 [Stenhouse Jr], I tried to just do what I could to turn right and miss both of them.”
@DeuceBoxHero I still don’t believe him

And yet yall still don't believe He made a mistake, he's a human being yall

Larson is one of the greatest drivers in the sport. No way that was a mistake. It was a failure in the car somewhere that is being covered up

“That obviously didn’t happen, so, yeah, embarrassing, and feel really bad about wiping Ty out. Just very thankful that him and I were both safe and good…it was scary for both of us. Hate that that happened and I’ll try not to make any mistakes like that going forward,” continued Larson.
What else did Kyle Larson say about the race at Indianapolis?
The Hendrick Motorsports driver acknowledged that the first corner was a massive braking zone. He observed that many of his rivals encountered issues stopping at Turn 1.
A notable example was Stewart-Haas Racing driver Aric Almirola, but Larson did confess that his problem was a lot worse. The 2021 Cup Series champion said that he was going as fast as he could so that he would miss hitting anyone in case he got out of control.
All in all, Kyle Larson was feeling quite embarrassed about the whole matter. From his memory, he entered the corner with a lot of speed and he hoped that Stenhouse would have turned in already. That would have given him plenty of time to squeeze through any potential gap. From there, he could safely go off track and use the access road to get back on track.
He admits he made an embarrassing mistake but then all of a sudden forgets what happened when questioned about hitting the gas??
You never have to remember the truth but you can tell in his body language he’s lying and hiding something. He zoned out and tried to fix it

I know we all need money. Been there. He's driving too much in other series. He "zoned" out. At those speeds, seconds of zoning out just take seconds and there you are…..@TeamHendrick

Nope. His demeanor is off, his tone is different as is his eye contact… he doesn't even believe what he's saying. He's my guy, and I feel horrible about the whole situation he's trying to explain away. Sorry @KyleLarsonRacin, I'm not buying it for a second. @Hendrick5Team
