NASCAR teams often have their cars updated with different paint schemes. This measure encompasses the carefully curated combination of colors, logos, and graphics that embellish a race car’s exterior. Teams collaborate closely with sponsors to craft distinctive and unforgettable designs that reflect their brand identity on the cars. Joe Gibbs Racing and Denny Hamlin keep a similar approach.

JGR and Hamlin’s primary sponsor, Mavis Tires & Brakes, will adorn his #11 car for a total of eight NASCAR Cup Series races this season. This includes the races in Phoenix, Bristol, and Richmond in March, Dover in April, Charlotte in May, Pocono in July, Atlanta in September, and Homestead-Miami in October. Ahead of their Phoenix race, Denny Hamlin’s #11 Toyota Camry XSE car is getting a new makeover from a different sponsor. Fans, on the other hand, express their disappointment with this new scheme.

A new collaboration scheme for Denny Hamlin

JGR onboards Mavis Tires and Brakes’ subsidiary Brakes Plus as a part of their scheme program. The racing team took to their X account and revealed their updated scheme for their 43-year-old star driver. They also disclose that Hamlin will be driving the new red-hot beauty at the Phoenix Raceway.

They captioned the post, “Introducing the red hot @brakesplusllc No. 11 Toyota Camry that @dennyhamlin will race with at Phoenix.”

Denny Hamlin, who has been associated with the No. 11 FedEx Toyota at Joe Gibbs Racing for most of his career, has witnessed changes in recent seasons too. While FedEx remains a significant sponsor for Hamlin, their level of involvement in NASCAR has decreased. This is due to their cost-cutting efforts. Meanwhile, Hamlin’s contract with FedEx remains unaltered from last season for his co-owned team, 23XI Racing, as well.

In 2021, as FedEx reduced its full-time racing involvement, companies like Mavis became available to Denny Hamlin and JGR. They eventually aim to yield better results for both parties. When JGR unfolded the new eye-catching and vibrant design from Mavis back in January, it caught everyone’s attention.

How are the fans reacting to this new “red hot” update of his Toyota Camry from Brakes Plus?

Fans go frenzy looking at the “red hot” scheme

NASCAR fans have expressed their opinions on this new paint scheme associated with Denny Hamlin and Joe Gibbs Racing. Let’s take a close look at some of them.

One fan took a massive dig and asked, where is the scheme at?”

Another fan wrote sarcastically, “When someone tries painting for the first time and does a simple base color.”

Someone else wrote, “This is the worst scheme I’ve ever seen in my life. There is no way that somebody put that together and thought that looked good. Are teams that down bad now that they can’t pay for proper wraps anymore?”

Dissing the company, a fan penned down, “Add this to another list of companies I’ll never give patronage to”

The delicate balance between feedback and maintaining brand identity often shapes decisions in the dynamic world of NASCAR. It will indeed be intriguing to observe whether Brakes Plus and JGR consider these reactions and make any adjustments, or if they choose to focus solely on the positive aspects.
