Earlier, a Twitter user made some pretty wild accusations about NASCAR’s favoritism toward Chase Elliott. They believed that the sport simply made up a new rule to benefit the #9 driver in some way. Of course, there were many people who did not appreciate the accusation and called him out for it.
Remember when NASCAR made up a rule so Chase Elliott’s crew could reset themselves? That’s why I think NASCAR plays favorites.

Of course, later on, the user was forced to apologize for his insinuations.
He said, “A few assumptions being made that aren’t true. 1. Yes, so much has gone against Chase Elliott, in which they manufactured ‘good racing’.”
“2. I am a Chase Elliott supporter. 3. I have never seen the rule book, and chances are you haven’t either. Lastly, I am wrong and was wrong about the rule.”
“I will not be deleting the tweet as I think some great discussions have occurred.”
“I honestly have no idea what led me to tweet this, but to emphasize, I was wrong and am more informed now.“
What did the NASCAR fans say to defend Chase Elliott?
Many fans insisted that the rule was already in place and was not at all made up on the spot. Others simply called out the Twitter user as a Chase Elliott hater. They even joked that the Hendrick Motorsports driver and 2020 NASCAR Cup Series champion ‘lived rent free’ in his head.
It was literally in the rule book, I remember bob pockrass posting it dawg

It was a rule. Not made up.

Haters must hate, This guy knows nothing about the rules

Some even suggested that Chase Elliott haters behaved much worse than toxic fans did . This was because they will be nit-picky and find the smallest reason to hate on the Hendrick Motorsports driver.
At the end of the day, so many people insisted that NASCAR would not favor one driver and go out of their way to blatantly help him.
Y’all really just let Chase live rent free in your heads. Lol.

Speaking of Chase Elliott, the #9 Hendrick Motorsports driver had a miserable start to his 2022 Playoff campaign. At the Darlington Raceway, he crashed out of the race, and that put a dent in his chances. Fortunately, there are still two races left to try and turn things around.
