When it comes to setting precedents in a sport, there are only a few who have tasted success. May that be NASCAR’s ‘King’ Richard Petty or Hockey’s ‘The great one’ Wayne Gretzky. Moreover, their success remains unmatched to date and the world is waiting to witness an athlete who can break these records. But what if Kyle Busch has already broken one and didn’t even get the credit?

Freddie Kraft recently reposted a post by NBC on Twitter. The post posed a question ‘What sports record will never be broken?’ And Freddie Kraft captioned the image with a list of records from various sports. And reacting to his post, various fans rushed in to write down their opinions.
A few conjectured that the iced hockey player Alexander Ovechkin can break Gretzky’s record. Whereas some others discussed how their favorite NFL players can set new bars in the sport. However, many NASCAR fans pitched in Kyle Busch’s name to remind Kraft about his wins across all NASCAR series.
Kyle Busch > Richard Petty 💪🏻👀🤷♂️😭

Kb already beat Richard Petty, Richard was racing fair races and such to get to 200 no way you cant think Kb's top 3 series total over 200 is less relevant.

I feel @KyleBusch breaking the 200 mark in @NASCAR got heavily overlooked

However, other fans soon chipped in to school Busch fans that they aren’t exactly right. Reminding them about the fact that Busch’s wins pertain to a myriad of series across the sport, the fans said that Richard Petty amassed his wins just in Cup Series.
Because the record is 200 in Cup, not Cup/Sportsman/Trucks

None of those records will ever be broken. The only one that could be broken is Petty’s, with kids getting in a Cup at 18, 19, 20.

Your forgetting Petty did it all in the Cup series. Not across three national series. There's the big difference.

However, this discussion led the fans to discuss the new participation rules implemented by NASCAR. Infamously known as the ‘Kyle Busch Rule,‘ these restrictions limit the number of races that a driver can participate in.

The Kyle Busch Rule
NASCAR came up with new participation restrictions to limit the number of series that a driver can race in. And since Kyle Busch has a tendency of participating in almost all, NASCAR fans viewed these rules as a direct attack against Busch.
