Death is a reality of being, and it can be difficult to say goodbye to loved ones. Just recently, NASCAR legend Richard Petty‘s son Kyle Petty posted a picture on his social media to announce the passing away of a beloved family member. Petty put up a few pictures of the happy times when Petty’s wife, Morgan Petty’s grandfather Pete Overton was still around. Petty also added in personal touch with a heartwarming story about Overton as his final message.
Petty captioned the post, saying, “One of the most amazing men I’ve ever known passed away this past Saturday. Morgan’s grandfather, Pete Overton, better known as PaPete, was kind, honest, friendly, loving, and genuine. He and Morgan’s Dad were her first loves. I asked them both for her hand! I will miss him every day, but I’m a better man for knowing him.”
