Without a strain of doubt, one can say Kyle Busch is one of the most influential and popular drivers in the NASCAR Cup Series today! The ‘bad boy of NASCAR’ just proved his worth once again this past weekend. But sadly, his new sponsor found out about his prominence in the sport in the most bizarre way possible.
With the Richard Childress Racing driver racking up his 62nd cup win at Talladega, his sponsors Mclaren Custom Grills had a shortcoming highlighted which is now being discussed widely among the community.
While Busch raced to the victory lane in his RCR #8 car donning decals of the new sponsor, bringing them into the spotlight, things certainly did not add up for them, as fans stormed their website, eventually crashing it just minutes after Busch’s victory.

Kyle Busch’s win at Talladega backfired for his new sponsors
Over the years, Kyle Busch has built a solid reputation with his sponsors. The former #18 driver was associated with M&M for a long time, getting the nickname, “Candyman.” With his over-the-top popularity in the community, Busch has always maintained a reputation for being the best man to market. And now, this fiasco with his sponsors has led the fans to call it the “KFB Effect.”
Mclaren Custom Grills, a grill manufacturer hailing out of Canada must have had some great plans when they approached the ‘bad boy’. The decision certainly would have seemed right but little did they know about the shortfall they were about to take. After just minutes of his impressive victory, the website crashed as numerous fans stormed the site.
.@McLarenGrills' owner on the website crashing after @KyleBusch won at Dega: "It happened within three minutes of him crossing that finish line. It seems like everybody wants a piece of McLaren Custom Grills now. It’s growing a lot quicker than I expected."https://t.co/23p9JsqPmg

The incident itself is a strong message to David Wilson, President of Toyota Race Development, as back in Joe Gibbs Racing Busch struggled to get a seat for 2023 because of sponsorship troubles. While the President wishes the best for the driver, he has also come under fire from fans for not securing a sponsor for him.
From struggling to land a sponsor in JGR to blowing the roof off the website of his new sponsor at RCR, the ‘rowdy’ certainly has come a long way!
