Recently, NASCAR fans were asked their opinion on the greatest Hendrick Motorsports driver of all time. Naturally, this opened the floodgates for a variety of answers.

Before long, two big names emerged as the clear victors, Jimmie Johnson and Jeff Gordon.

The two former champions are the two most successful drivers in the most successful NASCAR Cup team. However, when it came time to choose between them, the debate grew even more divisive.

Without a doubt, the statistics put the duo light years ahead of the rest. Though, when it comes to choosing between them, the answer was not as clear cut. Obviously, that didn’t stop NASCAR fans from making good arguments for either driver. Honestly speaking, it is very difficult to come to a consensus, because Johnson has the most titles, but Gordon snatched the most wins.

Jimmie Johnson vs Jeff Gordon: Who is the Hendrick Motorsports GOAT?

This debate is going to rage for a long time, with not much resolution. Truthfully, either driver could be considered the greatest Hendrick Motorsports driver of all time. In Gordon’s favor, his impact on the team was massive, on the track and even off it. As it turned out, he was also instrumental in roping in Johnson to drive for HMS in the #48 car.

Additionally, he was the one who helped HMS build the legacy that it enjoys to this day.

Furthermore, he boasts of a record-equaling seven Cup Series titles, with Richard Petty and the late Dale Earnhardt.
