Every race day may not turn out to be good, especially if you are a young NASCAR driver in a top-notch team with a lot of expectations riding on you. The wildly unpredictable nature of the sport can make your day grim, with bad luck and cautions at every turn of the track.
The race in Phoenix proved just that!
The fans were literally on the edge of their seats as Kyle Larson and his teammate William Byron went back and forth from the start to the final minute. While Byron managed to hold his nerves and get his first back-to-back NASCAR Series Cup wins, his not-so-fortunate teammate missed out yet again.

It was a tough time for Larson’s fans, as despite recording the fastest time during the practice session, finishing 2nd in stage 1, winning stage 2, and pushing himself to the limits on stage 3 with Kevin Harvick breathing down his neck, he was still denied the win at the last minute. However, in an Instagram post after the race, Larson congratulated his team and teammate.

Fans express their frustration as Kyle Larson misses out twice in a row
After what was an exciting race for many, Larson in a post-race interview pointed out the “really good job” done by his Hendrick Motorsports teammate. During the race, Blaney’s #12 car bumped Kyle’s car, propelling him forward as he could pull out to pass Byron.
While Kyle thought this was enough to hold off Byron, he turned things around in the final laps of the race to manage a decisive victory as Larson’s fans watched in disbelief.
Several fans expressed their frustration following Larson’s post. One fan said, “I can feel the anger in this post. So close two weeks in a row. That dub is coming soon.”
Being the honest and ardent fans they are, some of them wrote:
“You did real good in accumulating some points, Kyle. It’s a lesson in patience and tolerance. You will get there. Keep the faith”
