The 2023 NASCAR Cup Series will be a lot different from the recently concluded campaign. For one, there will be a few new additions to the Cup Series calendar. Chief among them is the Chicago Street track, which is brand new to the Cup Series. Besides that, there are some familiar tracks like the North Wilkesboro Speedway and the Milwaukee Mile.
The former’s return has set everyone in the NASCAR community buzzing. Considering that Dale Earnhardt Jr was spearheading the North Wilkesboro restoration, that got many people’s attention. Now reports have emerged that the Milwaukee Mile is also undergoing some changes and repairs ahead of its own return.

How have NASCAR fans responded to the news?
It is safe to say that the reception of the Mile’s restoration has generally been positive. As it turned out, the State of Wisconsin Building Commission unanimously approved multiple requests for the revival. The project is expected to cost approximately $3M in repairs/improvements to the Milwaukee Mile. Some fans on Twitter suggested that if the race was held during the state fair weekend it would generate a lot of hype.

We need a full weekend of racing here during state fair. Imagine the hype.

Just visited the track a month ago while on a road trip. Definitely needs some TLC before trucks go there next year. But I'm excited for the return!

That sure is a step in the right direction for saving the Milwaukee Mile! After all the repairs are completed, they need to improve significantly in EVENT PROMOTIONS!

Would love to see nascar come back.

Of course, a few people acknowledged that the track needs some revitalising before the Truck Series race next year. However, they did admit that they are excited to see it return to the NASCAR arena. Other suggestions included having more promotional events so that the Milwaukee Mile could be on the calendar for a long time. However, the general consensus is that people cannot wait to see the track host NASCAR once again.

Can't get the Building Commission to do squat about the 2 city blocks they've evicted and blighted in Avenues West, but they'll put public money into a nascar racetrack 4 miles from downtown milwaukee. https://t.co/u6rtZh3690
