In NASCAR, to be eligible for the main race, first, the drivers have to suffice the criteria set for qualifying. However, it seems like one of Hendrick Motorsports’ drivers didn’t get a chance to even qualify for the upcoming race at COTA.

It is not uncommon for us to see Cup Series drivers compete in Xfinity and Truck races. And this weekend has something similar in store for the fans. But sadly, one of the beloved cup drivers failed to qualify for the Saturday race. And it was all because of a strange reason.

The driver couldn’t even complete a single lap in qualifying and it was naturally disheartening for the fans.

A minute mishap on the track left the fans sad

In a recent Truck Series qualifying held at the Circuit of The Americas (COTA), No. 7 truck driver, Alex Bowman couldn’t qualify for the main race. During the first round of the race, his truck’s tire got punctured, leaving the lap incomplete. He didn’t set the best lap time, not sufficing the prerequisites to qualify.

A renowned motorsport journalist took to Twitter to share the news with the world that Bowman wouldn’t make the truck race.

Bob Pockrass, known for his NASCAR coverage, updated the NASCAR community. Seeing his tweet, fans couldn’t contain themselves and gave their reactions.

The comment section reflects many fans are hurt because of what happened with Alex Bowman. They portrayed support for Bowman and were anger at NASCAR.

There was nothing Bowman could’ve probably done. However, the race was quite interesting as the other drivers were pushing very hard to be at the top of the grid.

The session had many highlights, with drivers even sliding out of the track. However, Cup veterans like Ross Chastain and Kyle Busch had a great showing which got the fans’ adrenaline pumping.

Chastain was the fastest among all and got the pole for today’s race. Busch was half a second behind his Trackhouse Racing counterpart, clinching the #2 position.
