The NASCAR world has been rejoicing since the Cup Series season began. Fans have been rooting for their favorite drivers to earn their place in the top spot. The relationship between drivers and their fans is reciprocatory as the fans hold a dear place in the drivers’ lives. The drivers themselves have once been fans of the older generation of drivers whom they grew up watching. But not all of them have cherishable experiences with their heroes.
A recent revelation by Joey Logano has stirred a lot of mixed emotions in fans. In a recent interview, Logano shared an incident from his childhood that left him scarred as a fan. He used to be a die-hard fan of three-time Cup Series champion Tony Stewart. But after an incident involving Stewart when Logano was just 8 years old, Logano was left heartbroken.

The incident that left Joey Logano scarred
Joey Logano revealed a brutal Tony Stewart snub in a recent interview. He shared that as a child he tried to get a simple hello from Stewart but he just walked past him and completely ignored him. It might not seem like a big deal but for a child and a fan, it can be heartbreaking. After the incident, he was so upset that he threw away all his stuff in the bin. That memory is etched in his mind forever.

Experiences of childhood tend to stay in the mind for a long time and play a role in shaping one’s personality. Because of the bitter experience, to this day, Logano makes sure that he doesn’t act like Stewart did—especially when meeting young fans.

With so many complaints about Stewart’s behavior towards his fans surfacing, it looks like Logano made a valid point. After all, taking a little time to interact with loyal fans cannot be that hard.
