Leading most laps into the finish is definitely the best way to win. That’s exactly what Kyle Larson did at Bristol, and that put him back at the top of the grid. Larson led 462 out of 500 laps, and now that the top 12 have been decided, 4 drivers have lost their shot at the championship. Kyle Larson has been having a good season so far and has won 5 races so far. This was a great day for the team, as Larson just broke the record for the most laps led by a Hendrick Motorsport driver.
Of course, when it came time to celebrate this victory, Larson stayed back to meet his fans. What’s more is that Owen Larson, the No. 5 Chevy driver’s son, was there to celebrate with him. The meet and greet went on till 1:00 am, and this made some draw a comparison to Richard Petty, who never let his fans down after a race. But it was not only the Larsons who showed up to appreciate the fans supporting them; Cliff Daniels, the crew chief of the No. 5 team, was also a part of this.

Rick Hendrick’s wife, Linda, had asked all 4 drivers from her team to make it to the top 4. So far, all have been safe through the first round of the elimination. Now that they are all in the top 12, the playoff progresses into the next round. Kyle Larson led the race, followed by his teammate Chase Elliott, and Bubba Wallace came third.
The co-owner of 23XI Racing, Denny Hamlin, managed a fourth-place finish, and that put him back into the safe zone of the playoffs. At the Bristol Motor Speedway, Kyle Larson managed to not only win the race but came first during every stage of it too.
Kyle Larson’s whole team came through at Bristol, as he revealed in the post-race interview, “I’ve had a lot of good cars since I’ve come to Hendrick Motorsports, but man, that was just great execution all weekend by the team.” The Bristol winner analyzed his performance over the months and said, “We dominate a lot of races, but we might not close them all out, so it feels really good to close one out here.”
