Earlier this month, tragedy struck the racing community when news broke that Ken Block had passed away. The 55-year-old rally racer is best known for his rallycross prowess and his Hoonigan brand image. As a driver for the Monster Energy sponsorship umbrella, his loss was pretty massive. Recently, the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team and Brad Keselowski opted to run a tribute livery and overalls.

At the recently concluded pre-season test, Keselowski was spotted wearing a Hoonigan cap, as a tribute to Block. However, there were a lot of fans who criticized the hat, not knowing the context. Naturally, those fans were brutally called out and taken to task for their ignorance. As per one response, The amount of people completely clueless to what  Brad Keselowski’s hat represents in Bob Pockrass’s interviews is beyond disturbing. Remember Hoonigan.

What were the reactions criticizing Brad Keselowski?

Some people took a dig at Keselowski himself, suggesting that the hat was bigger than his ego. Others latched onto Keselowski’s observation that the cars’ mufflers needed work. Then they turned it around on the #6 driver, suggesting that his hat needed some work as well. Some fans felt that the hat looked “ridiculous” because the large bill was obscuring the Hoonigan logo. Few even joked that the hat was very large and looked odd on Keselowski.

A few straight-up confessed that they were not fond of the hat at all. Others simply mocked him for his hat business, asking whether he was a gangster. Finally, one observation was that the hat was so big that it made him look like a child. Safe to say, not many fans liked the Hoonigan hat at all, and completely missed the context.

On a different note, Brad Keselowski has been working hard this season after a relatively rough first year as a driver-owner. Without a doubt, the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing driver will want to turn his fortunes around. Now, one has to wonder how many races the tribute livery will be on the RFK Racing #6 car.
