North Wilkesboro is a classic track in our wonderful sport of Stock Car Racing. Unfortunately, its infrastructure crumbled and caused the track to be phased out. However, thanks to Racetrack Revival, this masterpiece of a short track is back to life and ready for some grassroots racing! On top of that, Dale Earnhardt Jr. will be behind the wheel of the #3 Late Model.

But that’s not all. There’s even more good news for fans regarding Junior and the track.

Dale Jr. announced the big news on Twitter with even more awesome news for the fans.

Junior will race with the exact same livery as he did in 1993 for a throwback. But that’s not all! He even got Sun Drop on board to run the same sponsor as 1993, as well!

30th-31st August will be a day of celebration for fans of the Hall of Famer. Especially since it’s the first time he’s running a late model race since 1997. And the fans sure did not shy away from expressing their happiness. Even the sponsor, Sun Drop celebrated the driver!

Clearly, the fans are more than happy to see Junior racing again.

Although, another thing to note is that Dale Jr. might be one of the biggest reasons we will race on this track again. In fact, he was the first one to try out the track. Moreover, he brought the track to the virtual world!

Dale Earnhardt Jr. Brought Back North Wilkesboro

Dale Jr. was one of the biggest promoters of the track, as he was the first one to get access as soon as Race Track Revival brought Grassroots back to life.

But we could take the roots of the track’s revival back to when Junior got the track cleaned to be laser scanned and brought to iRacing.

In fact, he made a whole video under Dirty Mo Media on bringing North Wilkesboro back in the virtual world.

And the best part is, fans can easily go on iRacing and have their own fun on this historic trick.
