After car manufacturer Acura launched their all-new “next-gen” Integra, NASCAR driver Corey LaJoie took to Twitter to share a post joking that Acura will come to NASCAR in 2023. Fans soon followed suit and shared their humor in reacting to the so-called “Next Gen” car.

LaJoie retweeted one of Acura’s Twitter posts saying, Acura to NASCAR 2023 confirmed.” Acura had simply put up a post to introduce their all-new Integra along with a visionary artist named JN Silva. Fans reacted to LaJoie’s tweet with a hint of humor and a squeeze of sarcasm.

However, some fans were not happy with LaJoie spreading unconfirmed news.

This was just LaJoie poking fun at Acura for calling one of their newer models after NASCAR’s “Next-Gen” cars. It would be fun if it was true, but alas it isn’t, or at least till Acura officially says so.

It is known that Corey LaJoie dislikes the road course layout at Indianapolis Motor Speedway, instead, he prefers the good old oval layout. He hopes that he can race on the oval instead of the road course next year onwards amid talks for changing track layouts.

While speaking on a podcast Lajoie mentioned, “This might be an ice cold take. I’ve heard that this is the last year that we’re going on the road course, and I hope so. There’s nothing that gets me excited to go to the road course at Indy. We’re gonna dig into my launching a 3700-pound vehicle about six feet in the air today. It’s not a crown jewel race, no it ain’t. It ain’t the Brickyard if you’re going the opposite way over it.”

After the race went by, Corey finished in a decent 18th place, since not too much was expected of the Spire Motorsports driver.
