Ryan Blaney’s run at the Goodyear 400 race at Darlington Raceway ended on a bitter note. In a restart midway into stage 2 of the race, his No. 12 Ford Mustang rammed into the outside wall after William Byron and Martin Truex Jr both tried to make a pass. In a desperate attempt to get his car back running, Blaney headed down the pit road, but the damage was beyond repair. This forced Blaney to take an early exit from the race.

Fuming over the treatment he received from both Byron and Truex Jr, he was out for vengeance and even tried to take out the No. 24 HMS car. Losing his cool he was heard saying this on the radio, “I’m gonna go k*ll both those motherf**kers is what I’m gonna do.” The 24 of Byron was the one that sparked the wreck, and upon learning that, Blaney even tried to intentionally wreck his car coming off the pit road.

Byron, in his defense after finishing the race sixth, shared his take on the crash. “I felt like I was ahead of them, and the exit is really narrow right there. I was surprised I was even in that spot. I felt like I would never got to the bottom of three wide there, but the lane was there into 1 and my car turned really good, and I got almost clear of Martin and then, and hate that, that happened. I don’t want to crash especially that early in the race.”

Blaney hasn’t started off the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series series on a high. While he may have the most number of points of all the Ford drivers in the standings, he is yet to register a win. There have been a few opportunities where he came close to clinching the win, but he hasn’t been able to cross the finish line in time. Moreover, incidents like this only keep him in a tight spot, with the regular season now reaching the halfway mark.

However, fans weren’t thrilled to see Blaney trying to get back at Byron and bluff into ramming his race car against the No. 24 HMS Chevy.

Fans react to Ryan Blaney’s tantrums at Darlington after his early exit

Reacting to his behavior coming off the pit road trying to take out Byron’s car, a fan wrote, “So basically he’s going to do nothing”.

Blaney already has a reputation for being chaotic and wild on his radio. While he did come off worst of the accident involving other cars, complaining about it on the radio wasn’t going to solve his issues. Taking a jibe at the Penske star, a user wrote, “Blaney the biggest damn baby in all of racing”.

Seeing the funny side of the incident, a fan advised Blaney to be wary of his actions, as his deliberate attempts to wreck others could land him in trouble with the law. “Nooooooo Ryan we can’t have you go to jail lil buddy”.

Another fan was quick to address the fact that Blaney wasn’t for real threatening to crash William Byron, who dates his sister. “Bro gonna kill the guy dating his sister”.
