Only a few weeks after Kyle Busch fended off Corey Heim for the win at Texas, the tables have turned on the #7 Spire Motorsports driver. Despite his veteran status in the Truck Series, Busch was in for a rude awakening as he visited Darlington for the first time in the Silverado. On lap 2 of the Buckle Up 200, Kyle Busch’s #7 lost control on the narrow main straight while battling Heim and spun out. But that was just the beginning of his woes.

The Darlington truck debut for Kyle Busch ends in record-breaking heartbreak

After crashing out on the second lap, Busch’s Silverado was checked out and sent back on track by lap 7, five laps down on the field. With his race for the win now transitioning into a comeback drive, Kyle Busch again found himself at a crossroads with Lady Luck. On lap 12, Busch crashed out again as he cut a tire and hit the wall hard.

Reflecting on what unfolded, Busch shared with Bob Pockrass, as he called it a night at Darlington; “I don’t know how close he was, I don’t know if he was on my door. I don’t know if I lost air. It instantly just stepped out. The Truck was wrecked, there was no reason why I should have been out on the race track.”

Within the first 15 laps of the Buckle Up 200, Kyle Busch had suffered one of his worst results in NASCAR history. Right after his incidents, various insiders brought up chilling insights into what this DNF meant for him, statistically. In 174 (before Darlington) career starts in the Truck Series, Busch had never finished dead last, until this weekend.

Veteran insider Brock Beard highlighted how Rowdy’s Darlington DNF made him the 44th NASCAR driver to complete the ‘Last Car’ triple crown. After finishing dead last in the Cup Series in 2004 at Atlanta and the Xfinity Series a year prior at the same track, Busch wasn’t expecting to finish dead last at Darlington to get that triple crown.

But that’s not all. Seth Eggert highlighted another unfortunate statistic that could be added to Busch’s career. The insider stated, “Not sure this has ever happened before, but with his early crash, I think this might be the first time that @KyleBusch has ever had the slowest best lap in any @NASCAR series, let alone the @NASCAR_Trucks Series.”

Quite evidently, Kyle Busch had probably suffered his worst-ever single-day result in the Truck Series at Darlington. Bringing up the conversations shared by his wife about how Rowdy would love to compete in trucks after retiring, this result may change some things.

That being said, it wasn’t just the statistics for Busch that were gloomy. NASCAR fans pulled no punches against the Truck Series veteran on X after witnessing his back-to-back wrecks.

The NASCAR community feels no sympathy for Rowdy

On Kyle Busch’s darkest Truck Series day, the NASCAR community just couldn’t fathom such a result. Although Busch claimed he didn’t know what triggered the incident, fans were not listening to any of the reasons. Some even went as far as to question Busch’s form and competency after such a wreck.

A brave user shared their truth; “Kyle Busch running out of talent doesn’t happen much. But it did here tonight. He crashes out lap 3. Wow,” whereas another was still trying to get over their disbelief; “We live in a society where Kyle Busch crashed in a truck race”

However, as these fans took a relatively lighter tone, others straight up stated that Busch’s time on top was over. As a fan asked on X, “Is Kyle Busch washed?“, they immediately received a response that wouldn’t sit well with Rowdy; Kyle Busch is #washed”

For others, Kyle Busch’s inexperience at Darlington as a Truck Series challenger was the main source of his misery. One fan pointed out, “Kyle Busch has never driven a truck at Darlington” Yeah bro… we can tell…” Similarly, others also didn’t sympathize with the driver much. Reflecting on the lap 2 spin, another fan stated;Kyle Busch just slipped on a banana and crashed lol”

It’s safe to say that Kyle Busch’s wrecks at Darlington didn’t sit too well with the NASCAR community. After all, it is only the third time in over 1200 starts that Kyle Busch has retired before lap 10. With that being said, do you think fans are perhaps being a little too harsh?
