Fans of any sport love a bit of temper. Anger coming to the fore, during a moment of adrenaline rush, Ross Chastain laid a fist on Noah Gragson at Kansas. The Trackhouse Racing Team driver got into a scuffle and the pair had to be separated by people. Chastain’s driving style has earned him much respect and applause from the fans.

Despite that, the situation with drivers has remained sketchy. His aggressive style has been welcomed with repulsion usually. The fandom has continued to back him as he adds the old-school element into the grid. Stewart-Haas Racing driver Aric Almirola has been on the receiving end of some ridicule recently for his remarks on Chastain.

Almirola appears as a guest on the popular show ‘NASCAR Race Hub’ hosted by Shannon Spake. One being asked about his thoughts on the situation at the workout, he says, “Well I think that’s human instinct right? Like you’re mad at somebody, you wanna go express your displeasure, he punches you in the face and you don’t get a chance to punch him back? Right, so understandably Noah was upset about offtrack, but on track I still think that Noah had every right to be mad.

Almirola further explains his standpoint as a fellow driver, “And I’m not coming from an objective analyst on this show, I am coming from a biased race car driver who’s been on the race track with Ross. Ross, to Noah’s credit, Noah said everybody races hard but of all the people Ross races the most disrespectfully and most of the time he doesn’t pay the repercussions.”

Speaking about the way it affects other drivers in the garage, he adds, “And again this weekend he battles back to finish top 5. So, at some point the guys in the garage just want to make it known that they are not happy. Noah went down to try to make that happen, it didn’t work out exactly how I think he envisioned.”

Shannon lets out a last question and perhaps the most common one, “So do you think and I think I have asked this question a 100 times this season, do we think it’s over between Noah Gragson and Ross Chastain?”

“Absolutely not.”

NASCAR Twitter fandom has not taken the analysis of Almirola lightly. Factions have formed to defend Chastain, as they even say Gragson had it coming.

“Pretty simple. Noah thought he could act like he did in Xfinity and Ross taught him a valuable lesson.”

“First, good right hand Ross!! Second, Noah needs to get his money back for that damn Haircut?”

Almirola’s remarks have not received much respite either.

“I call BS on Aric!!! He is upset and envious of Ross!! He hasn’t done anything really in NASCAR and probably wishes he could smash a watermelon”

From a driver’s point of view, it seems a bit reasonable. But roughing it up with Chastain is not going to go down well for Gragson. Almirola’s idea of the situation in the garage gives us enough idea of that.
