NASCAR Driver Kurt Busch Reveals His Unfulfilled IndyCar Dream

NASCAR driver Kurt Busch talks about how the COVID-19 pandemic forced him to rethink his plans for the IndyCar race. Notably, he raced in the NTT IndyCar series six years ago.

Fox NASCAR’s Bob Pockrass posted a video of Kurt talking about his plans for IndyCar Twitter.

He writes, “Kurt Busch says he did look into competing in the IndyCar road-course race Saturday at Indianapolis Motor Speedway. But the timing wasn’t right for a full effort to be put together”

In the video, Kurt talked about how with the recent developments it isn’t feasible to race in Indy. He said, “I looked at it and with everything going on with COVID. With the pandemic, and the lack of preparation, It kinda shut everything down. As far as the progress and the approach it takes a full effort.”

After that, He added that it would have been fun to race with his team in IndyCar after six years. He said, “Everything got shut down but It would have been fun to do with Chip Ganassi Racing”

Kurt Busch excited about Jimmie Johnson doing a test with his team

After that, Kurt talked about Jimmie Johnson doing a test with the Chip Ganassi Team for a possible IndyCar driver in the future. He said excitingly, “Now Chip Ganassi racing and Jimmie Johnson are doing a test next week with Scott Dixon’s car”

Recently, NASCAR team owner Chip Ganassi revealed that after the NASCAR-Indy doubleheader weekend, seven-time NASCAR Cup champion Jimmie Johnson will test the team’s IndyCar challenger at Indianapolis motor speedway on July 8. Johnson will driver team’s Dallara-Honda car of long time driver Scott Dixon.

Additionally, Kurt and Johnson will compete in ‘The Big Machine Hand Sanitizer 400’ at the IMS’s oval track next Sunday.
