NASCAR was in Illinois for the 11th round of the Camping World Truck Series. The Toyota 200 race at Madison concluded with Corey Heim coming out as the winner. However, it was a race to forget for Carson Hocevar.

The Niece Motorsports driver crashed in the final lap of the Truck Series race. Carson’s no. 42 Chevrolet started spinning after getting tapped by Derek Kraus’s no. 19 Chevrolet. Moreover, Tyler Hill’s No. 5 truck also slammed into the side of Hocevar’s truck. The no. 45 truck of Lawless Alan also made a significant contact.

The hit took a number of cars out with the caution flag out for safety. The fans started asking questions about the driver and his safety which the team answered in a few hours. Niece Motorsports released an official statement regarding the accident.

The team stated, “Following the incident on the last lap of today’s NASCAR Camping World Truck Series at Worldwide Technology Raceway, Carson Hocevar was transported to a local hospital for further evaluation of his right lower extremity. Additional medical updates will be forthcoming, with no further comment at this time.”

How did the race turn out for Carson Hocevar before the crash?

Hocevar started his race from 12th place with 32.391 as his qualifying time. Despite being out of the top ten in stage 1, Carson made sure he finished stage 2 in style. The no. 42 Chevrolet driver finished stage 2 in the sixth position.

After the restart post stage 2, Carson was running at a decent place only to be tipped off by GMS Racing’s Derek Kraus. Apart from this, Carson has three top-5s and five top-10s in all the 11 races he took part in Truck Series.

The Niece Motorsports driver qualified for the race ending in 24th place and did himself a little favor on the drivers’ championship table. Currently the no. 42 driver is in eighth place with 337 points. Ben Rhodes of Toyota remains the leader with 417 points followed by Chandler Smith and Zane Smith.
