Stewart-Haas Racing’s new driver and rookie, Josh Berry, recently revealed that he shared the same high school with pop icon Taylor Swift. Wow! Fancy Right? SHR’s No. 4 attended his school in Hendersonville, Tennessee. Not just this, he also recalled attending her live performance back in the day.

It was Taylor Swift and her family that relocated to the city so that she had a better shot at making it in the music scene. However, she attended the same school as Berry’s for just two years and moved to Aaron Academy to pursue her singing career. Berry did manage to attend her live shows during her time in high school, and let’s just say Berry was left stunned.

Just ahead of the big opener at the Daytona 500, NASCAR reporter Jeff Gluck posted about the connection between Josh Berry and Taylor Swift. The report suggested that Swift was a couple of grades older than him. Berry even remembered the event when he heard Taylor Swift perform a live show.

He said, “We were like, ‘Dang, she’s alright! You know how talent shows are; they’re hit or miss. But it was like, Damn, that was pretty good.” Josh Berry would have had a massive pop star’s autograph on his name, but unfortunately, he wasn’t able to get Taylor Swift to sign his yearbook.

Furthermore, Josh Berry, during the Daytona 500 media day, also made it clear that he does not know Swift personally. It is just a coincidence that both of them attended the same school. “Sometimes it gets made out like we’re buddies, which is definitely not the case. We were in the same school, and it’s kind of interesting, a small world, I guess, I went to middle school with Josef Newgarden too.”

Taylor Swift starred at the Super Bowl last weekend with her boyfriend Travis Kelce as the Kansas City Chiefs won against the 49ers in a thrilling match. Whereas, Berry will now look to focus his attention on NASCAR’s very own Super Bowl, the Daytona 500.

The No. 4 team once belonged to NASCAR icon, Kevin Harvick, and everyone knows about his successful stint with the team. Even during the team’s lean patch, it was the veteran driver who somehow brought home decent results. However, with Harvick gone, Berry is taking up the reins of the No. 4 team and is expected to rise to the challenges that the team faces.

Speaking in an interview, Berry acknowledged the pressure on him and his team to perform this season. He said, “Obviously, there’s a lot of changes with Kevin retiring and Aric moving on. I think all of us, for one, we’ve got to work hard. We know that there’s pressure on us. We have to run well, we have to win races. The energy has been great at the shop, everybody’s excited and ready to go racing.”

Going by the noise and hype the team has created in the off-season, they better pull off some good strings of results this season. Or else, they will have to face the consequences, as stated by their co-owner, Tony Stewart.
