Unfazed by his 2023 fallout, Kaulig Racing veteran and Xfinity Series sensation, AJ Allmendinger put on a clinic, acing the 2.2-mile makeshift road course in Charlotte, stunning the community. The 41-year-old who is in his first full season since his Cup Series return, shattered all expectations as he led 46 laps to pick the 3rd Cup Series win of his career.
Despite the overwhelming win, ousting several drivers from the playoff fray, the racing community isn’t quite convinced. Instead of lauding the team for the #16’s win, fans went in the polar opposite direction, snubbing and ridiculing Kaulig Racing’s stature.

There’s been a lot of development in NASCAR. With the 2023 season reaching the round of 8, and nearing its conclusion, the race for 2024 is already underway. Teams like Spire Motorsports have thrown in millions, acquiring Kyle Busch Motorsports, and are looking to cash in all their resources to make the most out of their 2024 campaign.
The 2024 roster will also see a couple of new faces putting on the role of a full-time driver in the Cup Series. Truck Series sensation Carson Hocevar is the main player here. The #2 ranked Truck Series driver who is riding the #42 Chevy for LMC for the remaining races in 2023 has been roped in to drive for Spire Motorsports.
Ty Dillon who is currently in the seat of the #77 car will be replaced by the 20-year-old next year. Dillon’s first season with Spire will probably be last as news is coming from all corners that he is probably headed to the Kaulig Racing camp for 2024. This started a series of brutal shots from fans, trashing the team, mentioning Spire Motorsports co-owner Jeff Dickerson’s comments about Dillon’s parting.
Jeff Dickerson of @SpireMotorsport:
"We're very grateful to Ty Dillon for everything he's done for our organization and the No. 77 team, in particular. Ty came to Spire after the 2022 season and has put his best foot forward. He’s done everything we’ve asked of him. We know…

Dickerson recently shared the news, thanking Dillon for his efforts, saying, “We’re very grateful to Ty Dillon for everything he’s done for our organization and the No. 77 team, in particular. Ty came to Spire after the 2022 season and has put his best foot forward. He’s done everything we’ve asked of him. We know he’ll land with a top-flight race team and wish him the very best.”
However, the team boss’ words were used to bash Kaulig Racing, who he referred to as “a top-flight race team.” Despite Allmendinger’s stellar win, trouncing over champions, the racing community did not consider any of this as they trolled the team mercilessly.

Barely weeks after he welcomed his newborn son into the world, AJ Allmendinger tasted success when he took over the race, edging out William Byron. The 2nd playoff eliminator at the 2.2-mile track was in fact a do-or-die situation for Kyle Busch who for the most part of the race looked like it was going to be his night.
Unfortunately, the 2-time Cup Series champion lost steam towards the end of the race, struggling to hold his position, the #8 RCR Chevy gave way to the #16 Chevy in the final laps of the race. Allmendinger then held onto the lead till he sealed the deal, crossing the checkered flag, earning 3rd Cup Series win of his career.

But online fans simply ignored the driver’s achievement and instead pounced on the team.
“We’re very grateful to Ty Dillon for everything he’s done for our organization and the No. 77 team”
Translation: “Thank Christ he’s gone, now bring in Carson.”
Utilizing the emojis, one user brutally trolled Ty Dillon,
“The Legend 🔥💯🗿👀👍 kept that seat warm for the young prodigy that was Carson GOATcevar. Now his efforts will be rewarded with the 16 Kaulig car 🗿”
“We know he’ll land with a top-flight race team and wish him the very best.”

Unlike some of the top teams in NASCAR that are blessed with resources and the right technicians, Kaulig Racing has had to work its way up the ladder. In recent years the Chevy-partnered team has shown commendable performance, climbing to a top 15 finishing team.
