From being one of the most promising drivers on the grid to being expelled from his team, rookie driver Noah Gragson’s 2023 season has been a rough ride for sure. Though the 2022 Xfinity Series runner-up made a name for himself with his gutsy attitude, standing up to the ever-polarising Ross Chastain, his social media activity got him into trouble. The final nail in the coffin came when Legacy Motor Club suspended him merely hours after the controversy.

Fortunately for him, the 25-year-old has now been reinstated back into the grid following the NASCAR-mandated sensitivity program and massive rumors surround the driver ahead of the 2024 season. The talk of the town is Gragson’s possible entry into the Ford camp at Stewart-Haas Racing and this has got the ball rolling in the community with fans speculating deeply.

While the community is awaiting the return of the rookie, the fans have also ruled out a bright outlook amidst the flaring high expectations.

The brutal reality of the comeback – Noah Gragson and his possible SHR entry

Now, given the news surrounding his return to the Cup Series, the chances are high that Gragson might as well team up with SHR for his 2024 campaign. Fan circles got excited when enthusiasts shared an inside picture of the rookie in the SHR race shop. Since then the fan speculations have only strengthened with many scrounging the internet for more updates.

They have even come out with bold predictions, including statistics and numbers, to back their claim. The popular NASCAR page, Good NASCAR Paint Schemes has brought out a feasible outcome of the driver’s 2024 season, mentioning about two wins each at Talladega and Michigan along with 14 top 10s.

The ‘X’ page was quick enough to rile up a debate and the odds certainly don’t stack up in favor of the rookie. To be fair, while the above analytics is not an impossibility, given the driver’s skill, considering the present scenario at SHR, things certainly don’t seem to go that way.

First, let us address the elephant in the room. Can SHR really deliver the goods if, in case Gragson gets a shot in the #10? Well, that seems highly unlikely, according to fans. Why you ask? After even the great Kevin Harvick couldn’t win a race with the SHR equipment, Gragson’s chances look far too slim.

However, as we mentioned above, that is not an impossibility. Many have opined, if Tony Stewart & Co. manage to find the hole and turn the team’s vulnerability into its strength, then things sure can turn out beneficial for Gragson. With the prediction starting a new debate online, fans quickly jumped on board, exposing the harsh reality as they put forth facts and figures.

“If Kevin couldn’t even win in the SHR equipment, I don’t think Noah can, just being honest,” noted one fan while another user mentioned how inadequate the SHR cars are, comparing them with other Ford teams, “nah bro be realistic, he will barely get any top 5’s. And thats not against him, SHR equipment s**ks, Ford focusing on Penske and RFK shows”

Another fan dismissed the prophecy, commenting, “Lofty expectations lil bro” while another user even placed a bet, relaying how far-fetched the figures are, “If even one of these stats are correct ill PayPal you 50$”

Amidst the fan frenzy, one user saw a ray of hope but was forced to point out the obvious, “It would be surprising for any SRH car to have these stats next year. Hopefully, the new darkhorse Mustang will help SRH get on par with the other Fords, but with the turnover in the organization, it’s going to take them time to find synergy across the board.”
