In NASCAR, emotions run high when it comes to being attached to the tracks. As far as Daytona is concerned, the track has been a magical place for plenty of years. The iconic Daytona 500 race has given a grand start to the competition more often than not. However, Joe Gibbs’s camp recently provided some mind-boggling news related to the track. With the 2024 NASCAR Cup Series schedule likely to be announced, Joe Gibbs Racing thought it was right for them to give the fans a glimpse of it through them.
The schedule shared saw the 2024 campaign starting with the Clash at the LA Coliseum and ending at Phoenix Raceway. While this was believable, it surprised many as the second race at Daytona in the year turned out to be the first race of the playoffs. It could have been an interesting prospect had the schedule looked like a serious one. With a deeper look, it was seen that the 2024 season had races at Rainbow Road, Bowman Grey, and Radiator Springs.

The Coke Zero Sugar 400 at Daytona has been the final race of the Cup Series since 2020. With NASCAR’s 2024 schedule, Darlington Raceway has taken up that place, and that hasn’t pleased the fans one bit.

Obviously, it has dejected a lot of fans, killing their excitement for the next season. Many explained their views openly on social media, criticizing the decision.

Daytona and Atlanta back-to-back
No Atlanta in the summer
No Daytona cutoff race”

– No Rockingham “

“I like it besides moving Daytona out of the regular season finale”
“Don’t like
