April 1st is considered as April Fool’s Day, so there are always plenty of pranks and jokes played on that day. Apparently, NASCAR also decided to get in on the action and pulled off a prank of their own. When the sport unveiled its power rankings, it replaced all the drivers’ names with movie character names.
Of course, this is NASCAR, so all the names were based on NASCAR-themed movies. These movies included, Days of Thunder, Talladega Nights: The Ballad of Ricky Bobby, Stroker Ace, Six Pack, At Any Price, Cars and Herbie.
The names included Cole Trickle, Ricky Bobby, Lightning McQueen, Stroker Ace, Brewster Baker, Cal Naughton Jr, Rowdy Burns, Dean Whipple, Herbie, and Chick Hicks.

Who is actually leading the NASCAR standings?
On a more serious note, Denny Hamlin continues to lead the 2021 championship. However, Bristol race winner, Joey Logano has jumped into 2nd place.
Logano is also the meat in a Joe Gibbs Racing sandwich, as Martin Truex Jr is behind him. Completing the Top-5 are Kyle Larson and Brad Keselowski, with William Byron behind them.
Ryan Blaney, Kevin Harvick, Chase Elliott, and Christopher Bell round out the Top-10. Now, the next race on the NASCAR Cup Series calendar is at the Martinsville Speedway.

Out of everyone, only 6 drivers have won a race this season. The only other race winner is Michael McDowell, who is lying in 12th place.

In other words, when the paddock heads to Martinsville, Hamlin, Keselowski, Elliott, and Harvick will be fired up. All four of them are on the hunt for their first wins of the season and will want to get their challenge up and running.

However, there are plenty of other candidates who are just as motivated. In addition to that, the current race winners will be keen to add a second win under their belts.
