In the world of NASCAR, drivers are often hailed as legends, and their skills on the track are scrutinized and celebrated by fans and experts alike. However, recent comments from a prominent NASCAR Bettor, Chris Werme, have some raised eyebrows and sparked a heated debate about the performance of one particular driver: Kyle Larson.

Werme’s comments came during a discussion with HMS legend, Steve Letarte, in a recent Dirty Mo Dough YouTube video titled, “Does Chase Elliott Actually NEED A Win To Make The Playoffs?”

Larson, who has been enjoying a successful season overall, has faced criticism for his recent performances in the last few races. Werme points out that Larson hasn’t lived up to expectations in some of the venues where he has typically excelled.

“I feel like the last four or five races, Larson hasn’t performed at places where he typically does perform, so I think right now he’s a little overvalued,” the professional gambler stated.

He went on to cite Larson’s performance at Gateway, where a decent finish was achieved through a strategic call rather than exceptional driving skills.

Similarly, at Sonoma, a track where Larson has historically been strong, he struggled to make significant progress, passing only a handful of cars and failing to crack into the top five. Werme believes that these recent setbacks have called into question Larson’s true value as a driver.

He added, “Could he unload fast qualify well and dominate this thing? Well, hell yeah he could and then it’s like the problem you look like he’s overvaluing.” But who knows? What he is currently lacking in the Cup Series, maybe he’ll make up for it in his new venture that he is about to debut for.

Despite the criticism, Larson remains determined to prove himself on the racing circuit. In an exciting development, he is all set to make his debut in the Solid Rock Carriers CARS Tour on Wednesday, June 28. He will be behind the wheel of the #5 Chevrolet Late Model for JR Motorsports at Caraway Speedway. Larson’s decision to participate in the CARS Tour came after Dale Earnhardt Jr, co-owner of JR Motorsports and a NASCAR Cup Series legend, offered him the opportunity.

The offer came during the NASCAR All-Star Race weekend, where Larson’s outstanding performances had already garnered attention and praise. Larson accepted the challenge and expressed his enthusiasm for the upcoming event.

In a press release by the team, Larson shared his thoughts, saying, “I obviously like racing on the local level. I feel like I can have an impact on the attending crowd and viewership on Flo. I hope I can go there, have fun, put on a show, and compete with some drivers that I’ve never raced with before. I’m looking forward to it. It’s coming up quick, and thanks to Dale for the opportunity.”

Only time will tell whether he can rise to the occasion and once again showcase the talent that earned him the 2021 NASCAR Cup Series championship.
