Not only is the Daytona 500 one of the most prestigious and coveted races to win in the world of motorsports, but it’s also one which has eluded many of the top drivers and legends of NASCAR to this day. Of course, the obvious name which comes to mind is Dale Earnhardt Jr and his long, long quest to finally win the Great American Race, which ended pretty late in his career.
But there are a lot of modern legends today who haven’t won the Daytona 500 yet. Drivers like Kyle Busch, Kyle Larson, and Chase Elliott are all modern legends in the sport and they’re still searching for their first Daytona 500 win.
So when FOX asked the drivers what they’d be willing to give up to win the race this Sunday, there were a lot of interesting answers.

NASCAR stars ready to sacrifice A LOT for the Daytona 500
For Denny Hamlin, the driver who has won the race more than any other active driver, the barter exchange he proposed to win another Daytona 500 trophy was pretty serious. “Ten race wins for one more Daytona 500,” he said.
The Hendrick Motorsports duo of Kyle Larson and Chase Elliott also agreed to make some sacrifices, although the man the Dawsonville native made was pretty serious. “I would race 10 less dirt races a year if I could win a Daytona 500,” Larson said, while Elliott claimed, “I’d probably get rid of the house, I can move, I feel like I can move.”
Kevin Harvick, who is calling it quits from the sport after this season, said, “I’m not probably gonna give anything up. If it’s our year to win it, it’s our year to win it, there’s no way that you can force it,” whereas his SHR teammate had the opposite answer, “I would give up all my trophies I’ve ever won.”
Speaking of teammates, the newly formed 23XI Racing duo of Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick both were willing to give up pretty serious things to get their hands on the trophy this Sunday.
“A couple friendships, honestly, can lose a best friend or two, whatever it takes,” Reddick said, while Wallace claimed he’d give up, “Everything, except for my wife and my dog.”
Kyle Busch would trade a crown-jewel race while AJ Allmendinger would trade what?

Two-time Cup champion and one of the most accomplished drivers in NASCAR’s history, Kyle Busch had a pretty elaborate answer compared to the other drivers.
“About anything, we’re getting to the point where we’re getting pretty desperate to check that last box I need to check but I don’t know, I would say, maybe give away a few trophies from the ones I’ve won over the years to be able to win this one,” Busch said.
“If you want to take a Brickyard 400 from me and I could have a Daytona 500, I’d go with that.”

But perhaps the most hilarious answer came from AJ Allmendinger, who was willing to give up something no one else was willing to in order to win the Daytona 500.

“Easy, left nut. I like my right one,” Allmendinger said.
