When not competing against each other on the race track, NASCAR drivers usually have some fun away from it. From a “teammate” perspective, the drivers sometimes participate in a few jollies with each other. Of course, these little games are often uploaded to social media for the fans to enjoy. These little PR stunts are actually a lot of fun for the drivers and it allows them to unwind a little bit. Recently, Denny Hamlin and his Joe Gibbs Racing teammate Christopher Bell shared such moments.
Safe to say, there were a lot of bad jokes and laughs exchanged between the drivers. This was because the theme of the day was dad jokes, and the drivers had to get each other to laugh. Truthfully speaking, there were occasions where the drivers went a little off-script, but it was no less effective.

It was a close battle between Christopher Bell and Denny Hamlin
Let it be said that while the jokes were mostly NASCAR-themed, they were all hilarious. Hamlin boasted that he is a tough nut to crack, as he is habituated to having staring contests with his youngest daughter.
Bell kicked things off with, “What did the NASCAR driver say to the tires?” The answer was, “I can’t handle the pressure.” That was enough for Hamlin to lose composure and lose the round.
Denny Hamlin replied with, “Why did the NASCAR driver bring his car to the doctor? … Because it had exhaustion” Unfortunately, that was not funny enough for Bell to laugh at all. So, Hamlin tried again. He said, “My mom bet me that I couldn’t make a racing car out of spaghetti. You should have seen her face when I drove pasta.”
Unfortunately, that was a bit of a dud as well, as the #20 driver did not laugh at the past her–pasta overlap.
Bell’s joke was, “What did the traffic light say to the car? Don’t look, I’m changing.” He managed to nail it as Hamlin broke yet again.
In the next round, the #11 driver got his revenge with, “What do NASCAR drivers wear under their fire suits? Speedos, banana hammocks.” Bell’s next joke, “Why did the electric car finish early? Because it had a short circuit,” did not evoke a response from Hamlin.

Speaking of whom, his next joke was, “What did the hot dog say to the bun at the NASCAR race? You ain’t got no buns, hun.” That was also a success in getting his partner to laugh.
Hamlin also asked, “What do NASCAR drivers do at the beach? They go scuba driving.” Unfortunately, Bell’s joke, “Did you hear about the guy who really loved NASCAR races? He thought that they were wheelie cool,” did not have the desired effect. Denny Hamlin finally said, “Why couldn’t the frog find his car at the race track? Because it had been toad.” That got a snicker from his teammate and resulted in Hamlin winning the round.

Hamlin also threw potshots at Hendrick Motorsports
In the middle of the game, Hamlin couldn’t help himself and took sly digs at rival team, Hendrick Motorsports. It started out a bit innocently, with Bell asking, “Why did the race car get booed in the movie theatre?”
Hamlin bluntly replied, “Must have wrecked the Hendrick driver.” Safe to say, Christopher Bell and everyone behind the camera, just lost it. Snickering himself, Hamlin asked what was the original answer, but Bell assured him that it was not as good as his answer.
Christopher Bell then asked, “What do you call a dinosaur who crashes his car on the track?” Once again, Hamlin showed off his cheeky side and replied, “Jimmie Johnson.” Following another bout of uproarious laughter, Bell choked out, “That was good, that was good. Tyrannosaurus Wrecks.”
