It’s not often that we see parents and their children racing together in the same series. We had Dale Earnhardt Sr and Dale Earnhardt Jr as one example back in the day. But we have never had a mother-daughter duo race in any series of NASCAR before. However, that is about to change. The Australian mother and daughter duo of Sarah Burgess and Bridget Burgess would soon be seen racing together at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway in the ARCA Touring series.

The duo announced that they would be out on track competing against each other in the ARCA series this weekend at the Las Vegas Motorspeedway. This moment would surely land the pair in the history books of NASCAR.

During an interview with ARCA, Burgees stated, “The historic moment definitely would be one of those standout moments. I will admit, though, I’m also the type of person who does something because I want to do it. I chose to be in the automotive industry because I’m fascinated by it, not because I wanted to be a girl in the industry.”

Sarah Burgess explains how she got the idea to race with her daughter in the NASCAR ARCA series

The Burgess duo later sat for an interview, where they explained what was the motivation and thought process to plan on doing something like this.

Sarah stated that the idea came about around last year when they had completed a full season with Bridget’s new car. She found the entire experience to be “really cool” and that is when she decided to give it a go. Another thought that came across her mind was, “how amazing would it be to just race against each other.”

Before Sarah Burgess decided to step into the car and become her teammate, she used to take the role of her daughter’s crew chief during the races. When they were finally able to afford a backup car for Bridget they decided to give it to her mother for a race weekend to experience how it would feel to drive alongside her. Fans are sure excited as hell to witness this event in all its glory and hope that they both find happiness in what they are going to be doing come this weekend.
