To say that Brad Keselowski has been a blessing for RFK Racing would be an understatement. From not being consistent or competitive at the front to earning a 1-2 finish in Daytona, the team has seen a lot under the NASCAR veteran’s leadership. A stat was revealed recently portraying the team’s incredible season and how they were better than heavyweights like Joe Gibbs Racing and Hendrick Motorsports. However, the job is far from over as far as the former Cup Series champion is concerned.

Brad Keselowski is a NASCAR legend, there’s no two ways about it. The 39-year-old won the 2012 Cup Series title with Team Penske and has an incredible 35 wins in NASCAR’s top division. As he is in the twilight years of his career, the veteran gradually seems to be transitioning into a team owner role with RFK Racing and he has delivered so far with the finesse of a champion.

There was a point in time when RFK Racing was absent from the front of the pack. They struggled to win races and finish in the top 10 with the consistency that a team of such rich history should. However, since Brad Keselowski’s addition, the team has seen a huge turnaround in fortunes.

Chris Buescher won two back-to-back races in Richmond and Michigan in the regular season. The final regular season race at the Daytona International Speedway had RFK Racing written all over it as the team earned a famous 1-2 finish as Buescher finished P1 and Keselowski P2.

Now that the 2023 Cup Series season has come to an end, several season stats are coming out and Keselowski’s team occupied the top spot in one. RFK Racing had the highest average finishing position of 13.29 in the year. This showcases their consistency in performance. JGR and HMS follow Jack Roush’s outfit with 14.26 and 14.33 respectively.

However, as far as Brad Keselowski is concerned, there is a long way to go and he will be hoping for an even better performance in 2024. “More to go,” the 39-year-old wrote on Twitter sharing the stat.

Being consistent in the Cup Series is not the only goal the 2012 Cup Series champion has in mind for RFK Racing. The goal is to grow and grow to be successful.

The 2024 Cup Series season will see three cars fielded by RFK Racing. The third car project, also known as #Project60, bears a resemblance to Trackhouse Racing’s Project91. The car will run on a part-time basis and as far as Keselowski is concerned, it is one of the first steps towards growth.

“It’s definitely the goal,” he said as per RACER. “So where we’re at as a company, we don’t want to grow just to grow; I’m not particularly interested in that. We want to grow to be successful, and so it takes a very measured means to do that, and I think that’s what the Stage 60 car represents for us,” he added.
