Home/NASCAR

Earlier last month, the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team dropped some big news. The organization was going to run a third car in the NASCAR Cup Series on a part-time basis. Additionally, the RFK Racing team announced that David Ragan would be one of the drivers for the ‘Stage 60’ project. However, one does have to wonder who else will take the wheel of the #60 Ford Mustang.

Recently, the RFK Racing team posted a picture on social media featuring MLB star Shohei Ohtani. Of course, the news announced is not real, but just a prank played by the team. If we’re being honest, they did a fantastic job of digitally dressing him in the team uniform, complete with his name on it. It looked so realistic that it fooled a fair number of fans. Ohtani’s name popped up because his future in the MLB was up in the air for a while. Fortunately for him, the 29-year-old has just inked a 10-year deal with the LA Dodgers.

Some fans did confess that they fell for the prank and got excited at the prospect of the Japanese player making a shock move. As one fan admitted, “I wouldn’t be surprised by 3-4 or wins and a deep playoff run. This guy can do everything”.

Others joked that the baseball star boasted of a ‘dad bod’ like Brad Keselowski. It could be an indication that Ohtani’s face was superimposed on Keselowski’s body and his name was given the same treatment.

Finally, fans were praising the Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing team’s social media content. After all, with no racing for the next couple of months, NASCAR fans would undoubtedly be bored. The drivers themselves will be enjoying some downtime with their families, especially with Christmas around the corner. Aside from that, the Cup drivers have been testing the 2024 cars and also competing in races away from the NASCAR arena.

All jokes aside, the RFK Racing team has been very strong. When Brad Keselowski took over the team in 2022, they had an admittedly slow start. Getting caught up in technical penalties did not help the team’s case, and it was a nightmare campaign. The good news was that the 2023 season was a lot kinder, with Keselowski and Chris Buescher as strong contenders for wins.

Both drivers became stronger and stronger towards the latter half of the season. If they can carry forward the momentum into the 2024 Cup Series campaign, they will be a force to be reckoned with.
