One of the most popular podcasts in the NASCAR community is the one hosted by Dale Earnhardt Jr, where even non-NASCAR athletes have made appearances. One of them was former MLB player, Chipper Jones, who shared many interesting stories about his career.
One of them was about his former teammate and legendary Braves player, Greg Maddux. He said, “Another story. In a big-league clubhouse, we have community showers. The shower that I always showered in was the second one on the left. The shower that he always showered in was the third one on the left. Big mistake by me by showering next to this gross human being. I got a big base hit to win a baseball game and he’s like, ‘Man, what a great at-bat. Walk me through what you were thinking.’

Both Jones and Maddux were part of the team that terrorized their division for 14 consecutive years. However, the Braves had a terror of their own, and it was none other than Maddux himself. Chipper Jones had a lot of horror stories about Greg Maddux, but couldn’t act on them, as Maddux was a veteran and he was a youngster.
Unfortunately, Jones was a little gullible at the time. Since Maddux had seniority, he was the more respected figure, so Jones did not suspect a thing. He continued, “I’m first or second year in the league. Dumb as hell. I’m thinking to myself that this is pretty cool. Greg Maddux wants to know what I’m thinking. So I go into this whole thing. I’m into it and I can sense that guys over on the other side are snickering and chuckling. I look down and he’s peeing on me. He’s Greg Maddux, so I can’t knock him out.”

Dirty pranks aside, Greg Maddux is a legend in the sport and helped guide the Braves to World Series glory in 1995. Other accolades include being an 8-time All-Star winner, and being in the Chicago Cubs and Atlanta Braves Hall of Fame.
