Recently, Roush Fenway Keselowski Racing driver Brad Keselowski raised a big issue in NASCAR. He bemoaned the fact that some of the bigger races in the Cup Series, don’t have big trophies. This all stemmed from a comment from former volleyball player Emily Ehman. According to her, the Fiesta Bowl trophy for American Football costs around $2.5 million. That prompted Keselowski to make his suggestion about NASCAR trophies.

It is also worth mentioning that Joe Gibbs Racing driver Denny Hamlin, wholeheartedly agreed with him. This is especially true for big races like the Daytona 500, the Southern 500 and many more races. A lot of these races are marquee events so Keselowski and Hamlin want to see a trophy that reflected that race’s importance. Of course, there are some race venues that offer unique trophies, like the Martinsville grandfather clock. However, there is not many other events that have unique trophies.
