Last July, Kurt Busch‘s racing career came to a premature halt after experiencing a massive impact into the wall during the qualifying at the Pocono Raceway. The 2004 Cup Series champ was ruled out for the rest of the season and has been away from racing for a while. During his recovery phase, Kurt Busch has taken a new role of consultation and observation this season at 23XI Racing, co-owned by Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin. Recently, de facto consultant Kurt Busch gave a blunt assessment on MJ’s NASCAR team while making a huge admission.

Kurt Busch recently joined co-host Steve Post on the NASCAR Live podcast where he talked about his recovery and his experience of being a consultant at 23XI Racing. Moreover, Kurt Busch also ended up giving an honest take on Bubba Wallace and Tyler Reddick’s team.

Kurt Busch responded, “Yeah, I like the blend of youth and experience within our group. All the new hires we’ve had, come aboard, they have that eagerness and that drive to learn quickly and that’s the key thing as we know we have a lot of ground to cover, and we gotta do it quick.”

Busch felt that the drivers’ zeal to grow quickly could be a huge plus for the team, that still has a long way to go, as per the NASCAR veteran. Further, the 44-year-old claimed that 23XI Racing’s successful run last year could also be a huge motivation for the team to build upon. The 2017 Daytona 500 winner said, “To be a winning group last year, with our Kansas car where I won, Bubba won, you know, put a car in the top 10 in the playoffs. Those are huge boxes that we are checking and that’s the trajectory we want to keep digging on.”
