Back in 2020, when former NBA legend Michael Jordan and NASCAR superstar Denny Hamlin set out to start their very own team, a lot of people wished them well on their unique venture. However, most importantly Jordan apparently received a congratulatory statement from one of the most iconic former Hendrick Motorsport drivers.

The iconic Jeff Gordon had put out an Instagram post reshare for the new team in question where he congratulated Michael Jordan and Denny Hamlin to put up something like this. In his caption, Gordon mentioned, “Great news. Congratulations to all involved! Very cool to have Michael Jordan part of the sport as an owner with @DennyHamlin, and @BubbaWallace behind the wheel. Looking forward to 2021!

Since then the 23XI Racing outfit has come a long way. What initially started as a one-car team with Bubba Wallace at its helm, soon expanded to two cars after Kurt Busch joined the ship.

Bubba Wallace won his first race for 23XI Racing

It took 23XI’s star driver Bubba Wallace a really long time to get used to everything and showcase his true performance. He was not able to qualify for the driver’s playoffs but still managed to secure his first historic win during the playoff race at Talladega.

Wallace happened to be leading the race when the flag came out due to rain. Soon the race was canceled and Wallace became the winner of the race. Thus making it his first-ever victory.
