The NASCAR: Full Speed series seems to have been a rousing success. One of the drivers who has been heavily featured is Denny Hamlin. The 43-year-old had an incredible chance of winning his maiden Cup Series title in 2023 but failed to qualify for the championship race in Phoenix. However, he was in fantastic form for most of the playoffs. With every race win, fans seemed to boo him that much harder, but his business partner Michael Jordan had all the love in the world for his business partner.

Michael Jordan contradicts fans as Denny Hamlin steals the show

One of the best moments of Denny Hamlin’s playoff run in 2023 came in the third race of the round of 16. The driver of the #11 car had come quite close to winning the two previous playoff races. In Darlington, the Joe Gibbs Racing star led the race for the most part, but an error by his pit crew cost him the entire race.

Things were a lot better at Kansas the following weekend. Denny Hamlin ran near the front for the majority of the race and his crew did not make any mistakes on pit road. However, the #11 car could only finish P2 behind Tyler Reddick. The conflict in the 43-year-old was depicted quite well as a 23XI Racing driver took the win.

However, the Joe Gibbs Racing man finally got his moment in the sun at the Bristol Motor Speedway in the third round of 16 race of the season. As he stepped out of his car, fans treated him with loud boos. The camera then showed Michael Jordan walking down pit road, saying, “They hate him, I love him.”

Denny Hamlin is not the only person who impressed Michael Jordan in the series. Bubba Wallace was a huge positive for the former NBA star as he went through a transformative season in 2023. He made the playoffs for the first time and after that achievement, the 30-year-old received high praise from his boss.

Ahead of the final regular season race at the Daytona International Speedway, Bubba Wallace was a nervous wreck. He was thinking about every single thing that could go wrong and knock him out of contention for the playoffs. So when he crossed the finish line and got the job done, a sense of relief was evident.

Michael Jordan was one of the first people who congratulated the 23XI Racing driver. Wallace was the first to address his boss as he said, “We got it boss.” The former NBA superstar replied, “Way to go kid. Called it though, didn’t you? Good job man. I am proud of you guys.” He even said that he wouldn’t mind going to Darlington if the 30-year-old performed as well as he did.
