NASCAR driver Bubba Wallace is well known for being a big music fan. If we’re looking at specifics, the 23XI Racing star has shown a strong fondness for heavy metal music. As often depicted in his Race: Bubba Wallace documentary series, the driver owns a drum kit and he plays on it a lot. He also admitted in the docuseries that playing music in front of a crowd is way more nerve-wracking than his first Daytona 500.

Interestingly, his music tastes are not just limited to heavy metal, but extends to other genres as well. He even boasts of a Beats by Dre sponsorship that helps fuel his passion for music. In conversation with Tudum, he said, “When the races were bad, you just put on your music on the flight home, mellow out and think, ‘All right, today’s a new day.’ It’s always important for me just to manage the expectations on the track, and music could help that.”

Bubba Wallace thrilled to discover his wife shares the same passion

In a recent Instagram story, Wallace filmed his wife Amanda head-banging to some heavy metal music. Admittedly, her music tastes are a bit of a mystery and this could be a sneak peek into it. The band that she was head-banging to is called ‘Invent Animate’, an American band based in Texas. Formed in 2011, the band delves into metalcore, progressive metalcore and other related genres.

The band consists of Marcus Vik, Keaton Goldwire, Caleb Sherraden, Brody Taylor Smith, and Trey Celaya. Vik is the lead vocalist, while Goldwire plays the guitar and Sherraden is the bassist. Smith is the drummer, and Celaya is the primary lyricist. Bubba Wallace has attended some of their concerts before and always enjoyed the experience.

Sometime back in 2019, the band Fit For a King, gave Wallace a once-in-a-lifetime experience. Like Invent Animate, they are also based in Texas, and Celaya is a member as well. During one show, Fit For a King invited Wallace onto the stage to perform with them. Former member Jared Easterling allowed Wallace to borrow his drumsticks and perform for a bit.

Wallace wrote on Instagram, “Sooo I did a thing.. Never fails, when Jared Easterling and the Fit For a King boys come to town. He forces me to play a breakdown.. he doesn’t give me much of a heads up… Hence the slight mess up. I was so nervous I walked off of stage shortly after this to regain composure. My whole body was shaking”.
