Kyle Busch‘s supremacy in the Cup series has made him a symbol of NASCAR success. In addition to his racing adventures, Busch mentors Spire Motorsports’ rising talent, none more promising than Rajah Caruth. Caruth’s stunning triumph in the Victoria’s Voice Foundation 200 at Las Vegas Motor Speedway brought him into the spotlight since it was his first NASCAR Truck Series win.
Particularly, Rajah Caruth is now the third black driver to win a national series race, after Wendell Scott and Bubba Wallace. Also, with his triumph, Spire Motorsports now leads the Truck Series championship, catching all three victories in hand. As Busch prepares for the Pennzoil 400, his praise of Caruth’s dedicated attitude illustrates the young driver’s potential. In a recent pre-race interview in Las Vegas, Busch praised his teammate’s dedication to learning, pointing to a bright future for him.

In a touching display of camaraderie, Kyle Busch extended heartfelt congratulations to Rajah Caruth following his recent victory. “I just sent him a note late last night, telling him he did a great job,” Busch shared, emphasizing Caruth’s stellar performance and commendable race craft. “His race craft was really good,” Busch noted, highlighting Caruth’s ability to race side by side and navigate challenging situations on track.
He also acknowledged Caruth’s growth since a previous setback, remarking, “He had an issue last year at a race that I had to sit him down and talk to him about, and seemed like he really listened.”
Delving deeper into their mentorship dynamic, Busch drew parallels between Caruth and past proteges like Christopher Bell and Erik Jones. “We’ve been through it with the Christopher Bells and the Erik Joneses at KBM,” Busch reflected. “And now Rajah is just another one of those.”
He recounted a recent encounter with Caruth on Pit Road, where Caruth eagerly sought advice and guidance. “I first saw him on Pit Road… He’s right up on me like, Hey man, what do you think? What do we got to do? What’s this? What’s that?” Busch recalled with a chuckle.
In praising Caruth’s proactive approach to learning, Busch emphasized, “He doesn’t ask dumb questions.” He elaborated, “You know, he’s like, ‘This might be a dumb question.’ I’m like, ‘Actually, it’s not.'”
Busch’s reassurance underscores his belief in Caruth’s potential and dedication to his craft. Drawing from his own experiences as a veteran driver, Busch empathized with Caruth’s journey, recognizing the challenges that come with navigating the racing world as a young driver.

Kyle Busch made his return to the Craftsman Truck Series this season after selling Kyle Busch Motorsports to Spire Motorsports last year. “Even before I was an owner, I always enjoyed racing in the Truck Series, so I’m thankful to Jeff (Dickerson), T.J. (Puchyr) and everyone at Spire Motorsports for the opportunity to compete in the five races that I’m allowed to do each season,” said Busch.

“A lot of the employees from KBM transitioned over to Spire, and I’ll be working with (crew chief Brian Pattie) and the same group that I had last year, so while it’ll be a little bittersweet not having a KBM decal on the front of the truck and a 51 on the side, I know that I’ll be getting in the best equipment in the series. Once I’m behind the wheel, it’ll look and feel like home and just like always, my only goal will be to add more banners in the shop!”
Kyle Busch has joined Spire Motorsports for five Truck Series races this season, driving the No. 7 Chevrolet Silverado. With two races down and a victory in hand, he has yet to compete in 3 more truck series races this season.
Busch’s upcoming truck series races will continue with Bristol on March 16, Texas on April 12, and Darlington on May 10. The Rowdy has a record of a total of five wins at Bristol and five at Texas but has never competed in a truck race at Darlington. Busch now has a total of 65 truck wins in his career, the most recent one being the Atlanta Race. Also, Kyle Busch had four truck wins at Las Vegas, but anyhow, Rajah clinched that victory.
