There’s always two sides to every situation in life, there’s the good and there’s the bad. Such was also the case when a noose was discovered in the garage of Bubba Wallace at Talladega a couple years ago.

The bad in this situation, well, it was obvious.

However, the good was the fact that it united not just drivers and teams from NASCAR against what happened, but it also united athletes and names from other sports in their support for Wallace.

One of those names was USWNT’s Megan Rapinoe.

The soccer player has been a huge voice for all the wrongs and injustices in her own sport, but she has also voiced her distaste for things that stretch beyond the soccer field.

Take for instance, when she slammed the haters of the current 23XI Racing driver in a tweet.

“Curious why anyone would “fashion” anything “like a noose” if not for the explicit purpose of making something that looks EXACTLY LIKE A NOOSE And we👏🏼know👏🏼what👏🏼a👏🏼noose👏🏼is 👏🏼saying👏🏼So, FOH with this wasn’t meant for Bubba, and wasn’t a hate crime,” she had written in response to a tweet by Wallace.

Bubba Wallace set to compete for the championship despite missing out on the playoffs

Despite missing out on the playoffs courtesy of an inconsistent season full of errors from his end and from his team, Bubba Wallace will still compete for the championship this season.

However, the championship he is fighting for, isn’t what you think.

It’s the owner’s championship.

Wallace will be driving the #45 car in the absence of Kurt Busch, whose season took a drastic turn after his concussion injury has him sitting out indefinitely.

“Kurt put us in the playoffs and isn’t able to finish out the mission,” Steve Lauletta, president of 23XI Racing, said. “The whole point of this is to put our team in the best position to get as far in the owners’ championship playoffs as possible.”
