Very few drivers have achieved this exponential amount of success as Kyle Larson has done. The speedster of Hendrick Motorsports has been one of the few indispensable assets of the team as he rose to the pinnacle of victory in the year 2021 by winning the Cup Series championship. Moreover, one can thank Jeff Gordon’s keen eyes for identifying the young talent and providing him with the opportunity to drive for Hendrick Motorsports back in 2020.

Larson began his racing career as early as he was seven years old in the world of outlaw karts and slowly shaped up to be one of the invincible drivers before foraying into the world of NASCAR in 2012. He has been able to carve his niche in the sport through utter perseverance, however, the driver’s allegiance has always been dirt track and sprint car racing.

He is also known as the ‘wheel man’ for his instinctive ability to rise in rank from the dirt tracks to the elite series of NASCAR. Apart from flaunting numerous feathers that he achieved from sprint car racing, he is also the 2x winner of Chili Bowl. Owing to his unconditional love for sprint car racing, Larson founded his racing team after his own name, Kyle Larson Racing which was originally known as Larson Marks Racing, and was founded back in 2013. The team once housed drivers like Shane Stewart and Carson Macedo.

Moreover, as a NASCAR driver, Kyle Larson has also earned numerous crowns, which include, 3 All-Stars Race wins and the Rookie of the Year Award.

However, this rise in stature and claim to fame probably wouldn’t have been there had it not been for his supportive family, especially his wife and three adorable children.

Kyle “Wheel Man” Larson’s Supportive Wife

Being a NASCAR driver is undoubtedly a tedious profession that requires years of dedication and Kyle Larson has easily surpassed the expectations as a successful NASCAR driver. As a result, Kyle Larson not only built his experience as a NASCAR driver but also a huge empire to his name. Larson’s net value as of 2023 is estimated at a whopping $15 million and is expected to rise higher.

Nevertheless, apart from juggling among a plethora of race tracks and motor racing series, Kyle Larson is also a dedicated family man, who tends to the needs of his family and remains the pillar of their support. However, the role of a family man would not have been possible, had it not been for the presence of his better-half Katelyn Sweet

Katelyn Sweet was born to her parents Don and Jennifer Sweet in Grace Valley, California. While her elder brother Brad Sweet went on to become a professional race car driver, Katelyn went on to become a skincare and beauty expert. Although Katelyn did not get the calling from the world of racing, she has tried her hands in other forms of sports. She is a former equestrian and marathon runner.

Nevertheless, apart from her professional commitments, Katelyn has been the cornerstone in Larson’s life as she stuck through the thick and thin of the driver’s life. There have been enough storms that tried to shake the foundation of their relationship, however, their deep-rooted love and faith in each other have helped to overcome their hardships.

Before officially tying the knot with each other on September 26, 2018, the couple embraced parenthood.

Kyle Larson and Katelyn’s first child Owen Miyata Larson was born on 22 December 2014. Speaking on the birth of his son, Kyle Larson expressed, “I cried right when they told her to start pushing and all that […] towards the end I started losing my emotions again and started bawling my eyes out.”

Having said that, a young Owen has followed in the footsteps of his racing father and has already embarked on the journey of being a successful race car driver. Growing up and accompanying his father on the tracks of NASCAR, racing runs deep in his veins.

Moreover, it can be asserted it is father-like as both the Larsons have an affinity for winning races and taking the chequered. While Kyle Larson has already established himself as a successful NASCAR driver and also scored his Cup Series championship in 2021, his son Owen has also tasted his first victory in the ‘Beginner Box Stock’ in Millbridge Speedway, North Carolina.

The 8-year-old who competes in karting races, was able to outmaneuver Kyle Busch’s son Brexton during the restart and other kart drivers to seize his first career victory. When asked about how he was feeling after the emphatic win, Larson Jr. expressed,I don’t really know. I just drove it.”

However, as a proud father, Larson stated to the media, “It’s super special. This is his first-ever win, too. It’s really, really awesome. I know he’s pumped. He’s cold and he was super scared to do the interview.”

Nonetheless, the rejoicing as proud parents is not only restricted to their son Owen Larson but also their second child Audrey Layne Larson.

Kyle Larson’s first daughter

Four years after the birth of their son, the couple welcomed their second child to the Larson family, a baby girl. Audrey Layne Larson was born in May 2018. The driver took to Twitter to share their joyous news to the racing world.

He wrote on Instagram, “What an exciting night/morning! Baby came a few weeks early but glad I was able to be in town for it all. Katelyn did amazing and we are excited to welcome a baby girl, Audrey Layne Larson! Owen got to hang out with his new little sister this morning and loves her a bunch.”

However, within 18 months of her birth, Audrey was diagnosed with Alopecia, an autoimmune disease that causes hair fall.

In an interview, Katelyn Larson expressed her views on her daughter’s condition and stated, I would stress about it and be very emotional about it because, as much as I knew nothing really bad was happening to her, it was just hair that was being lost, people would look at you and stare at you and ask, ‘Why does she always have a hat on her head.”

“She kind of looked like she was going through chemotherapy losing her hair. I just wanted to protect her from anything that might come out later. But I also think it’s good to talk about it and let people know that things are happening in our lives,” the mother exclaimed.

After the birth of Audrey, the family of four welcomed their fifth member lately.

Recent addition to the Larson family

After two years of being cooped up in homes due to the pandemic, the year 2022 brought a respite to the world. As they geared up to usher in the year 2023 and engaged in revelry and New Year shenanigans, the Larson family waited patiently for the birth of their third child and second son, Cooper Donald Larson.

Cooper Larson was born on New Year’s Eve of 2022, and the happy parents shared the good news via their social media accounts. Kyle Larson had paused his hectic racing schedule to spend time with his family and also await the birth of Cooper.
