A wedding is supposed to be one of the happiest days in a person’s life, but on February 28, 2001, Kevin Harvick and DeLana Lynn Harvick lived the experience under trying circumstances. DeLana hails from Kernersville, North Carolina, and was already deep into motor racing by the time she met Kevin. She is the daughter of former Busch Series driver John Linville and had her first visit to a race track at only three weeks old. The couple welcomed their first child, Keelan Paul Harvick, on July 8, 2012, and their second child, Piper Grace Harvick, on December 28, 2017.
The couple got married in Las Vegas during a tumultuous time in Kevin Harvick’s life. Just a couple of days before his wedding, Harvick made his Cup Series debut, replacing the great Dale Earnhardt who was involved in that fatal crash a week prior. Eleven days later, he won his first Cup race. Getting married is one of the biggest life-changing events for anyone, but the couple dealt with two huge moments in their lives within the space of a few weeks.

Their wedding may have taken place under trying circumstances, but Kevin and DeLana faced the trials and tribulations head-on and won. Today, they are one of the most popular couples in NASCAR and have two beautiful children – Keelan Harvick and Piper Harvick.
Keelan was brought into this world in 2012. Much like his father, he too has expressed a keen interest in racing. Kevin and DeLana welcomed their second child, Piper, to the world in 2017. She has yet to decide whether to follow in her father’s footsteps, but she can be seen at race tracks cheering on her dad and brother.
Meet Kevin Harvick’s son Keelan Harvick
Keelan Harvick may live in Charlotte right now, but a lot of his childhood was spent in her mother’s hometown, Kernersville. The couple reportedly frequented Kiawah Island, South Carolina, with their firstborn. Keelan was born 11 years after Kevin and DeLana got married.
Keelan was introduced to the world of racing from a very young age. He has frequented the race tracks with his mother to see his father do what he does best. He was only three years old when Kevin Harvick won his first and only Cup Series title in 2014 with Stewart-Haas Racing.
Today, it is safe to say that Keelan is one of the most popular kids in NASCAR. He is, of course, joined by Kyle Busch’s son Brexton in the same honor. Much like Brexton, Keelan has an interest in what his dad does for a living. And much like Brexton, he is turning out to be an incredible race car driver. However, he might not end up in NASCAR.

Keelan Harvick expressed his interest in walking in his father’s footsteps during the pandemic. Kevin revealed that his son decided to start taking racing seriously and how this helped him make his decision about when to retire. The veteran racer said that he would rather help Keelan improve as a racer.
“COVID-19 really changed directions for our family and it kind of helped me decide when to retire after he started racing. I can just be a fan and watch and learn and try to help him learn…and chew him out sometimes and all those things that come with being a dad,” Kevin said.
However, it turns out that Keelan Harvick’s fortunes may lie outside of NASCAR. Kevin and DeLana Harvick’s son is an expert go-kart racer, and he has taken his talent to the European circuits. Will there be a Harvick in F1 sometime in the future? Nobody can say for sure, but Keelan certainly seems to be taking that route. He has sat down and spoken to former F1 world champion Jenson Button about the sport, though.
Racing on the European circuits is a lot different from that on American circuits, and Kevin Harvick experienced this firsthand. Watching his son’s first go-kart race in Europe, the 2014 Cup Series champion was taken aback by how aggressive things were. He probably was concerned about his son’s safety as well.
“I sh*t my pants the first time I saw it. I was like oh my god, they dropped the green flag and I was like Oh my god what did I just get him into?” Kevin Harvick said.
“The first go-kart race I saw there just because the starts were very slow here and over there they are full speed. Like you come off the last corner and you just floor it. Everybody goes barreling into turn 1 and as soon as they dropped the green flag, one’s going left, one’s going right, and all the way from every row back. It’s just a different hook,” the 2014 Cup Series champion added.
Keelan Harvick has won several accolades so far in his nascent motorsports career. He has racked up titles like 2022 USPKS Nat Champ (Mini), 2021 SKUSA SuperNats, USPKS Nat, CKNA Grand Nats 5 & IAME Grand Nat Champ (Micro). In October 2023, Keelan picked up a huge victory as he won the Young Lions Race of Champions at the 2023 Asphalt Nationals. It’s safe to say that the Harvick name won’t be absent from motorsports anytime soon.

Meet Kevin Harvick’s daughter Piper Harvick
The youngest child of Kevin and DeLana Harvick is Piper Harvick. Keelan seemed the most excited when his little sister first came into the world. In a picture shared by their dad, Keelan can be seen looking at his dad in awe as he cradles the newest addition to the Harvick family. Kevin captioned the photo, “Miss Piper Grace joined the gang Thursday night! Everyone is healthy and we have an extremely excited big brother!”

While she has yet to decide whether she will follow in her father’s footsteps, she has already made the headlines. While taking a picture with her dad and her brother in 2022, the youngest Harvick made a gesture with her hands that we are all too familiar with. Kevin Harvick tweeted the picture with the caption “I guess Piper didn’t understand the concept.” The photo NASCAR fandom by storm as Kevin Harvick’s daughter gained a lot of fans that day.

Piper Harvick was also an important part of the Food City 300, the 2023 Xfinity Series race at Bristol. Along with her dad, she was the one who gave the command to the drivers to start their engines. The gesture was well received by the crowd as they were left smiling for the youngest, Harvick.

How do the Harvick children support Kevin Harvick’s racing career?
When Kevin Harvick first started racing, he had the full support of his family. His dad sold off a cherished 1955 Chevrolet, which he was building from the ground up to support his son’s early racing career. Thankfully, the sacrifice paid off as Kevin became one of the greatest drivers of his generation.
Kevin and DeLana were the owners of the race team, Kevin Harvick Incorporated before it merged with Richard Childress Racing. The couple now owns and looks after the operations of KHI Management, a full-service sports and celebrity marketing agency representing some of the most successful and high-profile professionals in the sports, broadcasting, and music industries.

As he grew older and had a family, Harvick knew that he could bank on his wife and even his kids for support whenever he needed it. DeLana Harvick comes from a racing background herself thanks to her father. She had experience working in motorsports with Randy LaJoie and Jeff Gordon before she met Kevin. DeLana can often be seen on track with the kids supporting their father.
But simply being on the racetrack isn’t just how Keelan and Piper support their dad. As it turns out, the siblings got creative one time and designed one of Kevin’s race helmets. With pictures of the family and a variegated color scheme, it is perhaps one of the most creative helmets Kevin has ever received.
