Danica Patrick is a name that’s well known in the auto racing scene. The former NASCAR and IndyCar driver has broken barriers and shattered stereotypes as a woman in a male-dominated sport. But there’s more to Danica than just her racing achievements. Danica has a massive following on social media, where she shares updates on her fitness routine, promotes wellness products, and interacts with fans.

She’s also not afraid to speak her mind on controversial topics, even if it means ruffling a few feathers. Her recent Instagram story is just a testament to that.

As she does, Danica recently shared a post on her Instagram story that arguably had an unpopular opinion. In the story, Patrick makes the argument that veganism is not as environmentally friendly as many proponents of the lifestyle claim and that it actually leads to the death of many animals.

The post that she shared was from former research biochemist, Robb Wolf. He captioned the post, “If you want to be vegan, great, but step of the moral High Horse. Veganism is not bloodless. Don’t confuse yourself with goofy notions of “intent.” Just be honest: life necessitates death. We can and should all strive for better food systems but veganism is not healthier, it is not going to “save the planet” and it is not morally superior.”

What became the crux of Patrick’s argument was the on-screen caption of the post that read, More animals die growing plants – change my mind”

The argument that Patrick makes in her Instagram story is based on the idea that in order to grow crops for human consumption, large tracts of land need to be cleared, which can result in the destruction of habitats and the deaths of animals that live in those habitats.

In addition to her arguments about the environmental impact of veganism, Patrick has previously made statements about the health benefits of a vegan diet. She claims that a vegan diet can lead to nutrient deficiencies and other health problems and that it is not a sustainable or healthy lifestyle choice for most people.

Ultimately, the decision of what to eat is a personal one, and each individual should consider their own values, health, and environmental impact when making dietary choices. It is important to recognize that there is no one-size-fits-all solution, and that everyone’s circumstances and preferences are unique.
