Dale Earnhardt Jr’s nephew, Jeffery Earnhardt, will make his return to the Craftsman Truck Series this season. The North Carolina native driver will pilot a Toyota Tundra MBM Motorsports Truck at Charlotte Motor Speedway, on May 24. This will mark Jeffery’s return to the Truck Series for the time since the 2011 season. Back then he used to race for Rick Ware Racing.

Earnhardt will be sponsored by Coast K9, a company that provides emotional support or service dogs to veterans and emergency services. So far, he only has 10 career starts in the Truck Series, and his best finish came at the season-opening race at Daytona International Speedway, finishing #7 on that day. He already has made his first start in NASCAR with Sam Hunt Racing in the Xfinity Series.

Earnhardt is a seasoned NASCAR driver with a total of 255 races under his belt. His best runs have come racing in the Xfinity Series, where he has made 169 starts and registered six top 10 finishes. He ran a full-time schedule with Alpha Prime Racing in 2023 and finished 27th in the overall standings. However, with the start of the new season, he is now gearing up to make a comeback in the Truck Series.

We’ve got some good news. Want to announce that we’ll be running the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series race at Charlotte Motor Speedway on Memorial Day weekend. If y’all follow me, you know how much military and first responders mean to me. So, to be able to get run on Memorial Day weekend at our hometown track at Charlotte Motor Speedway is a huge honor,” Jeffery said via his Instagram account.

He also shared details about his honorary guest for the Memorial Day weekend at Charlotte for the Truck race. “Also have staff sergeant Craig Schaffer riding on board with us, scout sniper for the Marine corps, he going to be our honorary member for that weekend. Really excited to be going back to Truck Series, getting this opportunity to race.”

The 34-year-old driver ran a partial schedule with SHR back in 2022 in the Xfinity Series. He made seven starts driving the No. 26 ride. His best run came at Nashville Superspeedway, finishing inside the top 10 places in seventh. In 2024, he will again pilot the same truck for an undisclosed number of races.

I’m really excited to be returning to Sam Hunt Racing and the TRD family. We had strong races in 2022, and I feel like we have some unfinished business. Sam’s program continues to impress, and Toyota makes me feel so welcome. I know this is the right move and can’t wait to get back in the ForeoverLawn GR Supra with Sam & team.” Earnhardt added.

Given that Jeffer has now both Xfinity and Truck Series races lined up this season, it will be interesting to see if he manages to clinch his maiden win in those limited opportunities.
