Dale Earnhardt Jr followed in his father’s footsteps to become a NASCAR legend after a career filled with monumental highs and tragic lows. While his on-track heroics reminded the community of the Intimidator’s competence, it was his no-nonsense attitude toward both the media and the team that turned out to be the biggest similarity he shares with Dale Earnhardt. Adding to the Earnhardt legacy, the NASCAR community recently found out that Junior’s nephew, Wyatt Miller, shows more signs of the Earnhardt bloodline than most had expected.

After dominating the Tulsa Shootout with a pole position and effortless win over last year’s Restricted Class Golden Driller recipient, Miller’s performance quickly sparked Earnhardt comparisons after his short interview during a red flag was shared by Matt Weaver on Twitter.

The 2023 Tulsa Shootout saw many prominent racers have a dismal time such as Kyle Busch who flipped his car and was mimicked by his son, Brexton Busch, who also had a similar incident in the Junior Class. However, Dale Earnhardt’s grandson had shown signs of success from the very beginning. Driving for CB Industries, Miller’s confidence was immediately boosted by Braxton Flatt’s victory earlier in the Junior Sprint.

The weekend started strong for Miller after he qualified in pole position for the feature race in the Restricted Class. At the start, Earnhardt would have a run-in with last year’s race winner Jett Nunley, which resulted in Nunley spinning out and blaming Miller for the clash. While this would add fuel to the fire for most, Miller nonchalantly channeled his inner Earnhardt and brushed the incident aside to thank his team for providing him with a capable car.

But that wasn’t all. While being interviewed before he was set to lead a restart, Miller shared his inputs on the track conditions and if he could maintain the lead and bring home the Golden Driller. Miller stated, “Yeah it’s a little slick but it’s doable. They are fighting out there for more. They (crew members) were telling me to run high but I don’t know, maybe I will or maybe I won’t”

His casual approach to the crew member’s advice while comfortably sitting in the lead after maintaining first for the entire race was an immediate hit with the community. The comparisons would switch back and forth from Dale Earnhardt to Earnhardt Jr, with most fans reminiscing about their media shenanigans after watching Miller’s interviews.

The NASCAR community can’t stop making Earnhardt comparisons after Miller’s interviews

Fans immediately began to take a liking to Miller’s way of communicating as one fan shared, “Maybe I will Maybe I won’t t-shirts coming soon”. Others also immediately reminisced Earnhardt’s responses to the media which helped build his reputation as the Intimidator, “Literally was saying this to my wife, such an Earnhardt response” The most common comparison being how stoic Miller looked while under significant pressure to maintain the lead.

One Earnhardt fan even pointed out in great detail how Miller’s awareness matched his grandfather’s: “@wyattwmiller73 is just like his grandfather Dale. He would be in the middle of an interview and drift off talking about something else like guys fighting or something totally off the wall too. Great job on the win.”

The community couldn’t contain their laughter at how the young Earnhardt family racer had already picked up so much on his family’s key characteristics. A fan shared, “Yup, he’s got that Earnhardt blood in him alright 🤣🤣🤣🤣 Dale Sr would be so proud” while another compared Miller to his uncle, “He’s been around Uncle @DaleJr something rubbed on him! #TulsaShootoutWinner #GoldenDriller”
