Dale Earnhardt Jr. usually is pretty flawless when it comes to promotional or marketing activities on social media. He has done quite well for himself in the business, broadcast, and content fields. However, a recent marketing blooper made by the social media handler of Dirty Mo Media made the former Cup Series champion and his close friend Mike Davis burst out in laughter.
In a recent episode of the Dale Jr Download podcast, Junior was promoting an event organized by Dirty Mo Media in Las Vegas on October 13. The event will feature Dirty Mo Media’s podcast hosts and regulars including Junior and Mike Davis themselves. While promoting the event, the X (formerly Twitter) handle of Dirty Mo Media sent out a tweet that read ‘Spend the night with Dale Jr.’

“We’ll be promoting it and have been promoting it on our Dirty Mo Media social handles, there’s links there to be able to get to what you want. If you want to come and see us. But I say all of this because during this weekend y’all promoted it by putting out a tweet and the first line in the tweet was, ‘Spend the night with Dale Jr,’” said Dale Jr on the podcast.
Junior’s co-host and close friend Mike Davis could not keep it together as he recalled the tweet and a text that Dale Earnhardt Jr. had sent him afterward, which was also funny in its own right.
“Yeah, that’s what the tweet said. You’re right, I’m shaking, I’m sorry, there’s nothing we can do to make that, I’m sorry. And I saw the responses as well. When you sent me the text, I went and looked at it and I’m like, I got nothing on this,” the Dale Jr Download co-host said.
I’m just gonna have to apologize because that could have been worded better. Spend the night with…you had a funny line in the text, like maybe 20 years ago, maybe 20 years ago that could be part of the promotion,” he further added.
Dale Jr. would then talk about the hilarious responses to the tweet, one of which even asked if his wife (Amy Earnhardt) knew about what her husband’s company was implicating.
“Well, I had a lot of fun with that, and so did other people. They’re like, Does Amy know about this? So anyway, we cleaned it up, got a better tweet, and put it out. But that was pretty funny,” Dale Jr. said.
While they might have seemed to be having a good time on the podcast, things were not as funny in an earlier episode of the Dale Jr. Download podcast, in which the former Cup Series driver and Mike Davis delved into a time period that the former would like to forget.

There was a time when Junior had lost a lot of confidence in himself as a driver and in his team at the time. The 2-time NASCAR champion was nowhere near challenging for race wins and running at the back of the pack. Speaking about that period of his career and life, the 48-year-old said that it was miserable.
“I think, the Cup Series man, if you’re not in a good car, I’ve been there, when you’re running in the back, not running well, it’s the most miserable thing ever. Nothing’s good about it,” Junior said.

Mike Davis would also go on to recall that time period, mentioning that he eventually did get his confidence back but with a lot of help.
“It annihilates your confidence. I tell people, I remember when we were racing at DEI and you would go around saying, “I’m the best race car driver out there,” not to be arrogant, but because you would almost say that to yourself, you had to think it and I remember when that stopped happening,” he said.
“And yeah, you were losing confidence in the team around you but you also lost confidence in yourself, and man, it was gonna take something special to get it back and you got it back but it wasn’t without help,” Davis added.
