Cody Kiemele is trying his luck in NASCAR after the baseball world. The rookie who is making his ARCA Menards debut here in Phoenix today is off to a bad start after having trouble looking for him in turn 1, bringing out the first caution of the race.
Replays show the wreck involving the Arizona State University Sun Devil athlete being involved in a three-car wreck in the opening laps with the third-generation racer, Danica Dart.

Shortly after the green flag was waved at the one-mile track in Phoenix, the tangle brought out the first caution of the day as the left pitcher, 14-year-old Dart, and Michael Mapples came into contact in turn 1. With the cars being involved in an early incident, it was indeed a stroke of tough luck for the ASU athlete who had a sweet tooth for racing, hoping to make it big in NASCAR and prove his mettle as a racer.
