Ever imagine a scenario where someone underperforms, just to avoid getting into the limelight? The man we are going to talk about today, Mason Massey, is one of them. With more than two decades of racing experience under his belt, Massey now is well-acquainted with the taste of victory. Let’s deep dive into the racing career of the 27-year-old Georgia native.

Who is Mason Massey?

Mason Massey, a professional American stock car racing driver, was born on January 24, 1997. He competes full-time in the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series, piloting the No. 02 Chevrolet for Young’s Motorsports. Massey also participates part-time in the NASCAR Xfinity Series, driving the No. 14 Chevrolet Camaro for SS-Green Light Racing.

Starting his racing career at the tender age of 5, Massey has amassed over 200 feature wins, 11 championships, and 10 track records across various classes. Notably, he became the youngest pole winner in the Southern All-Star Racing Series at 19 in 2016. Before that, he secured a victory in the Alabama 200 in 2012. All these triumphs made him a recognizable figure in the world of NASCAR.

Mason Massey took part in two races of the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in 2014, driving for DRIVE Technology. Then, for the Craftsman Truck Series, Massey debuted at the 2019 M&M’s 200 at Iowa Speedway in the NASCAR Gander Outdoors Truck Series, finishing 21st.

Although he planned to compete in the entire 2023 NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series for Reaume Brothers Racing, driving the No. 33 Ford F-150, he left the team after seven races. On April 1, 2023, in the SpeedyCash.com 250 at Texas Motor Speedway, he recorded his best Truck Series finish to date, placing 11th. On February 12, 2024, Young’s Motorsports announced that Massey would drive their No. 02 truck full time in the Truck Series for the year.

As for the Xfinity Series, B. J. McLeod Motorsports revealed on January 28, 2020, that Massey would pilot their No. 99 car for part of that season, starting with the race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Following the season’s end, Massey returned to an earlier racing venue to claim victory. He won the dirt crate late model feature at Senoia Raceway’s Fall Nationals.

In 2021, Massey resumed his partnership with BJMM, competing in a 12-race schedule in the No. 99 car. For the 2022 season, he joined DGM Racing, driving the No. 91 car in every oval race. He achieved his career-best finish of 6th place at the spring race in Atlanta.

As the Ag-Pro 300 approaches, Mason Massey has overtaken the previous fan-favorite J. J. Yeley. He will now drive the #14 car, which will feature the ‘Indigo Warrior’ paint scheme, a design chosen by fans. Fans also stand a chance to win VIP pit and garage passes.
