In the Joe Gibbs Racing camp, Martin Truex Jr is an elder statesman along with Denny Hamlin. The 2017 champion will be entering his 20th season in Cup Series. This year, the Toyota family bid farewell to Kyle Busch but welcomed Tyler Reddick and Ty Gibbs into the fold. The Toyota contingent had their pre-season photo shoot ahead of the new season.

Apparently, Reddick was having his photo session when it was abruptly interrupted. Truex Jr poked his head inside the room asking if Reddick needed any help. The new 23XI Racing driver confessed that he was new at this, and Truex Jr called him a “freaking rookie.” In the upcoming season, Reddick will pilot the #45 car, previously driven by Kurt Busch. Additionally, he will be partnering Bubba Wallace in the #23 car.

What to expect from Tyler Reddick in 2023?

Without a doubt, Reddick is a hugely talented driver, and last year, he was the breakout star. Even before his three wins in the 2022 season, Reddick was always at the sharp end of the pack, fighting for the win. It all paid off handsomely at Road America, the Indianapolis Road Course, and Texas Motor Speedway, where he triumphed. Those wins were enough to see him reach the Playoffs and finish the season in 14th place.

This year, he will also have an excellent teammate in Wallace. Additionally, he has the experienced Kurt Busch by his side, who has stepped back from full-time racing. He also has the support of experienced drivers like Martin Truex Jr and Denny Hamlin, who can be extremely helpful in Reddick’s blooming career. Now, one has to wonder where Tyler Reddick can go from here.
