Joe Gibbs Racing driver Martin Truex Jr. got the pole for the weekend’s NASCAR All-Star race at Bristol. A random draw decided the starting position of the 16 qualified drivers. The next three spots will go to the top performers of the All-Star Open and the last spot to the winner of the fan vote.
Today, NASCAR announced the result of the draw. They wrote in a tweet, “NEWS: By virtue of a random draw, @MartinTruex_Jr will lead the field to the green flag in the #AllStarRace Wednesday night at @BMSupdates“

Truex will start the race next to the Hendrick Motorsports No. 88 car of Alex Bowman. Behind them are Ryan Blaney and Justin Haley at P3 and P4 respectively. NASCAR Cup series points leader Kevin Harvick will sit at P5. After a strong show whole season, Harvick will look to add another feather to his cap this week.
After that, NASCAR veteran Matt Kenseth, Kurt Busch, Custer, Keselowski, and Kyle Busch will complete the ‘top-10’. Additionally, it will be interesting to see who will win the fan vote. Currently, Bubba Wallace is leading the fan vote and looks like a strong contender for the final seat.

In fact, seven-time Cup champion Jimmie Johnson who recently recovered from COVID-19 will start the race at P14 alongside Chase Elliott at P13.
Last race winner Cole Custer will start the NASCAR All-Star race at P8
Last week, we saw a surprise race winner as Cole took his first-ever Cup Series win. And he will look to continue his strong show when he starts the All-Star race at P8.

Custer’s win also puts him as one of the probable for the playoffs. With only a couple of races left, the playoff fight is only going to get fiercer with every week.
